The Thunder! I know they went to the play-offs for the first time as Oklahoma and Durant is going to be there for a while! Be good to get a little knowledge from some fans seems they a fellow Oklahoma team!

I have to admit I enjoy a little bit of Basketball now and again, but not really followed the NBA for a good 7-8 years! And now there is a team in OKC, is a perfect time to get a little bit more interested :)

I love the Thunder! I was really never into the NBA--I considered myself a college-hoops-purist until the Thunder came to town. It's been fun getting to know the NBA alongside the team.

Anyway, the Thunder are an appropriate fit for the city because the entire franchise is so young in a city of relatively-new NBA fans. They're fresh and exciting, and they're an easy squad to start following. Their General Manager, Sam Presti, is only 33; he's very smart, he's a recording musician, and a lot of people already call him one of the best GMs in the league. Their head coach, Scott Brooks, played for several NBA teams and won a championship with the Rockets--his first head-coaching job was with the Thunder, beginning in the middle of the 08/09 season.

The Thunder are very young (by Presti's design). Aside from Jeff Green and Durant (who each played their rookie seasons in Seattle), Nick Collison is the only player on the squad who is a former Sonic. Look at their youth: http://espn.go.com/nba/teams/roster?team=okc (Thunder Roster). Their only significant players over 23 are Nick Collison (29), Nenad Krstic (27), and Thabo Sefolosha (26). And both Collison and Krstic might not be on the team after this season (they're free agents).

I can make more fan-boy, masturbatory posts about the Thunder if you like. :)

Sounds good to me about the Thunder! A young team is never a bad thing as they are usually more hungry for it and about proving a point! I have to say Ive never really followed an NBA team before, more just a fan of the game, may have to change that for the up-coming season!

A GM at 33, thats pretty crazy, but I can dig that, will have different ideas and views than alot of the older GM's im sure!

So whats the outlook like for the next season? Play-off contenders again?

Next season we will move from playoff contenders to contending for a top 4 seed as far as expectations go

i believe we will be top 2 in the west for many years, win a couple titles in the next few years. the way the team is being built will become a model for the nba.
