Just curious.

Mine is Wes Welker. Yeah, he should've been, but wasn't. But I really have respect for the way he plays the game.

Demeco Ryans, of course I'm a Texans homer but he's been nothing been outstanding since he entered the league. I don't understand how teams pass on guys like him or Curtis Lofton.

I feel the same. I went to high school with him and he is an extremely hard working guy. Not a bad career for someone that got virtually no interest from colleges.

I go with this guy too. He pretty much had everything in life handed to him (aside from football) and decided "No thanks, I am going to work my *** off and become a great football player and my own man."

Aaron Rodgers had to deal with the whole Favre fiasco and still is considered one of the top QBs in the NFL. I'm with the Badger on this one.

Funny pic but let me hit you w/ a fact... even w/ that bad Green Bay line Rodgers still managed to have two back to back seasons w/ over 4000+ yards passing. He's the ONLY player to ever do that in the NFL in their first two years starting.

He used to get a lot of flack, but Jeff Tedford did a great job teaching mechanics to Rodgers...A lot of his qb's have struggled in the NFL, because they never progressed, but they all left him with great mechanics(exception of Akili Smith)

Welker has my respect. Too bad we had to end his senior season at HH like we did. But it was payback for 1998. But the guy is an extremely hard worker and seems like a good guy. Peyton Manning, Jared Allen, Drew Brees, and Larry Fitzgerald are my top picks, though.

Current players?

QBs I'd say Rodgers and Romo. Romo's entertaining to watch when he's on his game. And Rodgers was the guy all the ignorant Green Bay fans nearly booed out of the stadium because they got their #4 panties in a wad a few summers back.

RBs... Chris Johnson and Felix Jones (I'm a big AD fan, but this is a non-Sooner list)

TE's Jason Witten, Antonio Gates

WRs... Larry Fitzgerald

I must confess, at the NFL level, I don't pay attention much to the line until someone's clearly not cutting the mustard up front. As far as players I admire, Michael Oher.

DL... Jared Allen, Super Mario Williams

LBs Demarcus Ware and Ray Lewis

Safeties... Polamalu (sp?)

Corners... see: linemen^^^

Was it '97 or '98 when you guys lost up there and your QB (Womack?) rushed for something ridiculous like 430 yards?

I also never forgave Welker for single-handedly beating the fastest bunch of white boys I've EVER seen in the state final: the '98 Tishomingo Indians.

Welker single handedly beat Davis that day in 98, including kicking that monster FG

Yep, it was 98. Davis had the game won, and was running time off the clock, but fumbled, lost the ball, gave up a TD, let HH recover the onside kick, then Welker kicked a 40 yard FG into the wind to win the game with no time on the clock (all of that happened in the last 1:30 of the game). And yeah, our QB, Zack Womack, ran for 435 yards that game, including a 99 yard QB sneak. He was a stud. He basically trained in the offseason by running while pulling a tractor tire and hauling hay. But yeah I still couldn't believe they beat Tishomingo that year. That Tish team was unbelievably good. They beat them like they beat us, by last minute miracles credited to Welker. I was just glad we snapped their 28 game win streak the next year in Davis. 34-11 I believe it was. Our QB that game racked up 252 yards rushing and 3 TDs while fighting the flu and having a temperature of 103 degrees (or so he says...it was probably around 101). The craziest game atmosphere at Davis I have seen. Something like 7,500 people packed into a 2,500 seat stadium...people stacked around the field 7 deep and flowing into the endzone....5 or 6 tv stations there were 3 news helicopters landed on our practice field. That was big time for a little school like that. Welker was a stud in high school. He made people look like they had never learned to tackle. I seem to remember their QB Graham Colton also set a passing record with 400+ yards in that game in 98 as well. But our QB rushing for 435 made the USA Today.

I remember that, '98 was my senior year of high school. We (Heritage Hall) always sucked until Wes and Graham Colton. Now HH actually has a pretty good program, the money donated by Aubrey McClendon has made a huge difference. Our weight room used to be absolutely pathetic, now it is pretty kick ***.
