So's I been wantin to put up a Flag pole , never could find one anywhere.

Then I memberd I had takin down an Old TeeVee antenna.
So i went to my junk pile and dug out the pole , i cut off all that antenna stuff put a wire wheel to it to knock off the rust and ****. Now I just got to finish paintin it , attach , My pulleys and Air Craft cable I bot .
Attach my OU Flag and Im good to go .

soon as I can get another Merican Flag ill put that on top

Make sure you light that beyotch. Otherwise, you'll have to stand Retreat each evening and do that flag-folding rigamorole. I recommend wiring up a car headlight to shine on it. ;)

Here's a question. All of my neighbors leave their US Flags out - ALL the time- Rain/Shine/Dark. Is this not improper flag etiquette? Am I remembering the scouting days incorrectly?
We bring ours in at night and never put it out when there's a chance of rain. Weird thing is, one neighbor was in the army back in 62-65 and his looks like crap.

AS long as its Lit ( as in a Light shining up at it) , Its proper to fly it 24/7rain or shine.
Like Homey said If you dont have a light shining up at it ya need to take it down at Dusk ;)

Yeah none of them have lights shining on their flags. I was on flag detail in Elem school back in Houston and I remember having to run outside to take the flag down in the rainstorms. And Houston has some sick elephants and dogs rainstorms.

It used to be that the flag was to be brought in during rainstorms. They were all made of cotton. Now, proper procedure allows you to leave the flag out during a storm if it is an "all weather" flag. Most are now days. My dad, a WWII vet brings his in if it is going to rain. He is old school.
