Texags is a fun place for rumors, but they really aren't welcoming to visitors. Then again, we aren't always nice-nice with the resident whorns either :D

If any event, hope Box is OK. Internet rumor probably isn't real.

Only aggie would celebrate nearly beating us on their home turf.

Insert academic smack, throw in some "you recruit texas players" crap, because A&M has ownership and first dibs on every athlete within the borders of Texas, and voila! So aggie.

You would think that a collection of detached from reality (they think they have a legit football program, that they could win in the sec, that being good in track and softball should matter to everyone) ice cream man worshippers would not be overly sensitive. I got perma-banned for the term "collie station".

That's serious little brother syndrome when you make it report something like this from another team before even their local media knows about it.

Didn't they break the Bomar thing?

some random guy posted it in like January of that year, all of the Texags ripped him a new one for posting ubsubstantiated rumors on their site, then 6 months later, they brought the thread back up and all apologized.

how very aggie taking such delight in "scooping" this "story". its like theyd rather do that than actually beat us on the field.

Herniated disk. Might have surgery and be out for the season, might not.

Wort is just as good, though. They were neck and neck until Box got injured. I remember this scenario, actually....

Dude's injured, football career flashing before eyes, probably doesn't care. :(

The important thing to note is that he's day-to-day, not out for the season as those aggies claim to have reported first.

It is very dangerous to start injury rumors on message boards, and irresponsible... not that we think as highly of aggies as they think of themselves, but for these players, football is their lives and potentially their livelihoods.

In any event, we'll go down and score 66 on them in College Station again to put them back in their place, they'll whine about how their academics are superior and they win more often in minor sports that we don't care about, we and the rest of the Big 12 cut them a $20 mil check so their athletic department stops hemorrhaging money, and the natural order is restored.

...the order where texags claims to break news, but not break into bowl eligibility :D

gawd this thread on texags is like a gold ring-wearing, crew-cut, moronic homophobe convention.

this is my favorite. an OU poster says "core" in reference to the A&M corps. He gets corrected by this moran:

Hey I'm one of those ole stupid CORPS guys. I can tell you this I wouldn't need a saber to beat your pansy ***. Oh BTW, your an idiot for coming over here and making an account for the purpose of answering this thread.

Who subsequently gets corrected on his grammer by an OU fan:

Since we're correcting grammar..it's YOU'RE!!!

aggie corps member responds with this ironic, classy nugget:

Yeah thanks grammer police homo.

logic-FAIL

and then comes the obligatory "all your players are from Texas" post.

Who back up Wort in the middle if Box is out and Ronnell is playing Will/Sam.

Source: Sooners' Box 'day to day' with back injury

Oklahoma linebacker Austin Box has sustained an injury to his back, though the extent of the injury is unknown.

A team source Monday night confirmed Box's injury, and said his condition is "day to day." Box's father could not be reached for comment.

Internet reports surfaced earlier Monday that Box, a junior from Enid who is competing for starting duties at middle linebacker, was in an Oklahoma City-area medical facility.

The 6-foot-2, 232-pound Box has played in 21 games in two seasons at OU after redshirting in 2007. He made four starts in 2008 and two last season, and has totaled 70 career tackles (11 for loss), one interception and a forced fumble.

He has spent this preseason competing with redshirt freshman Tom Wort for the starting job.

Box struggled with knee and elbow injuries early in his career at OU after earning high school All-America accolades at Enid, where he played quarterback and free safety.

That's great news it's not surgery, but still a bummer. Box must hurdle yet another obstacle to get on the field.

Well, good for him, nothing permanent or requiring surgery.

How much of your body do you sacrifice though....elbow, knee, now back.

If it was A&M football, not worth it. Hell, even Jorvorskie Lane wouldn't lose weight for A&M football. And let's face it - about all A&M football has gotten its players lately are not-full stadiums, lectures on marshmallows and Bunsen burners, and no bowls or chances for titles.

If it was OU football, I think we'd all do surgery and surgery and whatever it took to be on the field, playing for championships.
