JOE LEGAL vs. JOSE ILLEGAL

You have two families: "Joe Legal" and "Jose Illegal".
Both families have two parents, two children, and live in California .

Joe Legal works in construction, has a Social Security Number and makes $25.00 per hour with taxes deducted.

Jose Illegal also works in construction, has NO Social Security Number, and gets paid $15.00 cash "under the table".

Ready? Now pay attention...

Joe Legal: $25.00 per hour x 40 hours = $1000.00 per week, or $52,000.00 per year. Now take 30% away for state and federal tax; Joe Legal now has $31,231.00.

Jose Illegal: $15.00 per hour x 40 hours = $600.00 per week, or $31,200.00 per year. Jose Illegal pays no taxes. Jose Illegal now has
$31,200.00.

Joe Legal pays medical and dental insurance with limited coverage for his family at $600.00 per month, or $7,200.00 per year. Joe Legal now
has $24,031.00.

Jose Illegal has full medical and dental coverage through the state and local clinics at a cost of $0.00 per year. Jose Illegal still has $31,200.00.

Joe Legal makes too much money and is not eligible for food stamps or welfare. Joe Legal pays $500.00 per month for food, or $6,000.00 per
year. Joe Legal now has $18,031.00.

Jose Illegal has no documented income and is eligible for food stamps and welfare. Jose Illegal still has $31,200.00.

Joe Legal pays rent of $1,200.00 per month, or $14,400.00 per year. Joe Legal now has $9,631.00.

Jose Illegal receives a $500.00 per month federal rent subsidy. Jose Illegal pays out that $500.00 per month, or $6,000.00 per year. Jose Illegal still has $ 31,200.00.

Joe Legal pays $200.00 per month, or $2,400.00 for insurance. Joe Legal now has $7,231.00.

Jose Illegal says, "We don't need no stinkin' insurance!" and still has $31,200.00.

Joe Legal has to make his $7,231.00 stretch to pay utilities, gasoline, etc.

Jose Illegal has to make his $31,200.00 stretch to pay utilities, gasoline, and what he sends out of the country every month.

Joe Legal now works overtime on Saturdays or gets a part time job after work.

Jose Illegal has nights and weekends off to enjoy with his family.
Joe Legal's and Jose Illegal's children both attend the same school. Joe Legal pays for his children's lunches while Jose Illegal's children get a government sponsored lunch. Jose Illegal's children have an after school ESL
program. Joe Legal's children go home.

Joe Legal and Jose Illegal both enjoy the same police and fire services, but Joe paid for them and Jose did not pay.

Do you get it, now?

If you vote for or support any politician that supports illegal aliens...
You are part of the problem!
It's way PAST time to take a stand for America and Americans!

What are you waiting for? Pass it on.

People get all riled up about this stuff, but they jump on the opportunity to pay Jose a couple hundred less than Joe to fix their roof leak.

Okay. Okay. I get it. But, I would point out, for the record, illegals in Oklahoma don't get free medical. However; if they present at an ER with an emergent condition, that facility is required to treat them until they're stable. That's federal law and goes for any human being. Even Hitler. If he was still alive and had a stroke or got in a bad wreck or something.

As to federal benefits. No. Illegals are not entitled. Some states do give state benefits to illegals. But not Oklahoma.

As to children of illegals, if they were born here, they are citizens, thus they are entitled to anything any other citizen can get in the benefits department. If they weren't born here, they are entitled to go to school and get fed at school. SCOTUS said so. I don't make these rules.

Finally, its kinda silly to say Jose pays no taxes at all. He pays sales tax on everything he buys, and the property owner from whom he rents pays property taxes.

As to Jose not paying state or federal income tax; I agree. That's whacked. That's also why we need to figure a way to get his kiester on the tax rolls. Problem is, the only way to do that is to grant him some kind of legal status. And that's politically untenable, at least among the majority of folks.

Therefore, Jose will just keep living and working here, and working for cheap, and not paying federal or state income tax. Lather, rinse, repeat.

Jose might not pay those taxes, but he does owe. Unless his employer and his employer's accountant are having fun with numbers...

Some pornographer should title one of his works "Fun With Numbers."

I had intended to write that the original author of "JOE LEGAL vs. JOSE ILLEGAL" is dumber than a wheelbarrow full of Glenn Beck. But then I saw an interview of him by Bill O'Reilly. Now I believe it's more accurate to say the author of "JOE LEGAL vs. JOSE ILLEGAL" is dumber than a truckload of Bill O'Reilly.

There's so many inaccuracies in "two joes" I don't know where to begin.

Let me say, there was a time in Norman when many of the bars didn't check IDs closely and most 19 year old kids could get in and drink with no problem. Then they started enforcing the age minimum, and lo-and-behold, all of a sudden, 19 year olds had IDs that said they were at least 21.

If Joe Illegal has a steady 52-weeks-a-year job in California in construction, it is highly likely he has a social security number that works and is paid by a payroll check. The Social Security Administration estimates 2/3 of illegals are paid by payroll checks.

Those who work primarily for cash are the low hanging fruit among illegals. easy for lazy-@ssed journalists, politicos, and trailer park residents to examine.

Don't you remember when all the Swift Meat Packing Plants were raided a couple of years ago? Every single worker had a social security number and had been I-9 verified and e-verified. But SSNs are not biometric, so it doesn't really verify anything except that a valid SSN matches the name typed in. It doesnt verify anything else.

And companies don't have two groups of employees: illegals with no health insurance and legals who get health insurance. They either all get it or all don't. Actually 40% of illegals have health insurance through their employer or through their spouse's insurance. It's not determined by being illegal or not, but whether one works for a company that provides insurance or making enough to pay for it yourself.

In today's Sunday paper here in San Joaquin County, the front page article was about all the retired county workers who were drawing over $100,000 pensions. 112 of them in the county. They got named too. Check out the list:

http://www.soonerfans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=143596

12,000 county retirees drawing pensions paid for by Joe and Jose and other workers. And they retire early - some of them in their 50s, so we get to support them a f**king loooong time. And this doesn't include those retired from public education. We have a retired Superintendent who draws $250,000/year for the several 2 or 3 year stints he did f**king up each district as he went along.

All these bureaucrats who draw govt checks and get the taxpayer to pay for health benefits and of course the taxpayer paid for their public education. And I'm supposed to $hit if Jose's kids get a couple of free fish sticks at school?

If Jose came over at age 19, then he is providing labor to our community and we didn't pay $70,000 for his public education. It would work a bit better if he had a guest worker visa. Black markets are corrupt. Unfortunately, no such thing as a guest worker visa for dry wallers, roofers, food prep, most hotel/restaurant work, etc.

For 15 years - from Reagan to Clinton, we had a booming economy that demanded 500,000 more workers/year than the domestic labor force could provide, and only 60,000 H2B visas. Which led to 10.8 million illegals. From 1982 to 2007 anybody who could spell G.E.D. could get a job. Or anyone who could ask, "¿Que es G.E.D.?"

The best friend for the secure-the-border crowd is actually the recession hangover. Over a million have "self-deported".

The guy who owns the construction company should be FREE to hire the best man for the job. If it's Jose, then gov't bureaucrats should earn their fat salaries and pensions and issue him a worker visa. I am anti-illegal and pro-immigration reform for the benefit of a free market of labor. Immigration reform advocates include biometric SSNs in the deal.

SJS, way to not even mention that the entire chain letter is based on a basic math error.

I used to think the one redeeming value of that chain letter was that it could lead to a discussion of welfare and the need to get rid of it. Too many gov't checks for this and that.

But what I, unfortunately, found out was that:

Liberals want to protect the cradle-to-grave welfare state for everybody and conservatives want to protect the cradle-to-grave welfare state for everybody whose mom is legal.

Only we libertarians want to get rid of the welfare state. Stop the welfare checks. stop the double and triple dipping by gov't "workers." Stop robbing the private sector workers and the owners of the businesses who risk capital to create wealth, to pay ungodly pensions to gov't "workers."
