Barber is still one of the top backs in the NFL inside the 5 or in short yardage.

Lots of passes TO's way from Cincy and their drive stalled.

I'm wondering how long Gresh is going to be in. I don't see either team playing starters too long but with him being a rookie he might get a good amount of snaps.

I'm listening on Sirius. Has Gresh had trouble getting seperation(as if he couldn't haul it in anyway). It seems odd to me they haven't tried to hit him over the middle.

Manuel Johnson just had a hell of a special teams play. Jumped at the goalline and batted a punt back into play to pin it inside the 1 yardline.

I enjoyed seeing Manny on special teams. The one time I saw him get the ball thrown his way just had to be when the Bengals made a defensive play. Argh.

Jermaine really didn't do too much, seemed that he was always running into traffic and blocking for their running game. it might be his role this season, considering their receiving corps.

TRRW has perfected the goalline turnover forceage, it seems :)

TFRW has perfected the "not my fault!" hands flailing everytime he doesn't catch the ball thrown his way, it seems.

I wish we could have seen more of the Sooners. I hope Manny gets more chances to make the team, but after last night, it looks like another practice squad season :(

Overall thoughts on the game.

T.O. looked to be very much in sync with Palmer. Got a some balls thrown his way early. Definitely look for his numbers to increase over last season.

Cowboys offense looked similar to last year....could move the ball just fine in between the 20's but bogged down in the Red Zone. Have to fix that if you are gonna be a contender. Cowboys defense looked pretty solid. Forced some turnovers, got pressure, tackled well. Nice play from some of the backup DL/LB guys (Bowen, both Williams LBs, and Butler).

Cowboys 3rd TE, John Phillips was having a great game both blocking and catching, but they are thinking he may have torn an ACL. It didn't look good when he went down on kind of a weird play. He's really gotten a lot of praise during camp and is a hard worker.

As far as Sooners goes. Tashard Choice made the most of his snaps I felt. He missed pretty bad on one outside rusher that got past the tackle and got to the QB. Manny Johnson had the nice ST play. TRRW made some plays while in there. Gresham got a good amount of snaps with both 1st and 2nd teams, but just didn't get much in the way of targets.

Glad the Cowboys won, glad to see some actual football. Can't wait for Hard Knocks this Wednesday!

The Cowboys in the red zone last night was weird, at least on the first possession. They lined up in shotgun from the 3 yard line 3 times in a row. It was like Mizzou or Tech would do, not a Super Bowl contender.....

Yeah, that was most dissapointing.

Romo kind of botched one throw to TFRW that should have been a TD. TFRW made a great cut on a slant against PacMan and for some reason Tony pumped it first, even though TFRW was already open. the extra half second or so it took to reload and fire the ball and defender had made his way into the backfield to disrupt the throw.
