WOW, Mensik starting at R tackle.... Good for him. I don't know if thats a good thing or bad thing. He did play well against OSU and Stanford though. After listening to what Stoops has said out the progress of the O-Line, i'm taking it as a good thing.

Stache could become his permanent nickname if he's not careful.

To be honest with you, he’s just really lazy and so, before the BYU game, he wasn’t really expecting to get that much TV time. So he just didn’t shave. Then, it became this huge deal. Students made shirts. I was like, ‘Landry, you have to shave that. Like, you have to shave it. It’s disgusting.’ He was like, ‘I can’t.’ And all the students would go crazy if he had shaved it.

So basically, Landry's just going to be lazy again and not shave for a few weeks :D

my gf got mad when i didnt shave, sadly i gave the same excuse.....the students need me!

For those of you that missed Stoops on ESPN yesterday, he was saying that he loved the stache, and while they were kind of joking about it, his support had some merit - at a time when Landry was under a lot of pressure to replace the returning Heisman winner, people weren't critiquing his throwing motion or decision making as much as they were critiquing instead Landry's stache, giving Landry time and patience to adjust to such a tremendous role.

FEAR THE STACHE!

We've had guys with massive 'fros, guys with silver shoes, guys with multi-hued mohawks and they all worked out just fine. Perhaps it's time to go retro, ditch the button-down, goody two shoes deal and be a bit more high, wide and handsome. Travis Lewis seems like he's up for the ride. Maybe he should grow a stache as well.

Hell, maybe the entire team AND COACHES should grow facial hair. (and that, friends and neighbors, was a cue to those of you with farking skill to produce a photo of Bob with a 1970's rasty moustache. Venables should go the mountain man route and grow a massive unkempt beard down to his navel. Josh with mutton chops. This could get ugly).

I am too! He wants to please the fans. And, I love last year's "fear the stache". It may not be able to grow the best stache in the world, but who cares? He is ours. He is badass. He is going to lead us to an undefeated season and BCS national championship. I like this.

I appreciate the fact that he wants to connect with the fans. I'm really enjoying the characters we have on this team. It seems like when we have real characters out there we win championships.

Oh gawd,
Joe Schad's twitter account earlier today:
"Reports indicate UF QB John Brantley is growing a moustache."

KantoSooner
8/16/2010, 04:00 PM
Brantley may grow and maintain a moustache.

He will, however, NEVER BE 'The 'Stache'.

Landry's dad should trademark that. Maybe develop a nice logo, maybe a football with a moustache or something. Maybe get Jake The Snake to be his spokesperson. Get a series of 10 second video clips of hot women from around the world announcing in sultriest way, "I love The 'Stache". You could create an entire marketing campaign around it. Sell clip on moustaches at the games....
