I have heard good things from within the locker room, so I am going to be cautiously optimistic. http://www.olevetpossehideout.com/forums/images/smilies/yes.gif

Where did he say that? That is a pretty bold statement, indeed.

I heard him say it tonight. He said "this class is one of the best... if not the best class he's had at OU."

Still, its a pretty bold statement.

I think he was referring to the math scores on the SATs.

"I rarely (comment) until I get a chance to see it," Stoops said. "I saw it today the way they ran, the way they showed up in practice. I really believe it's going to be either our best or one of our best recruiting classes we've ever had here. And there are 29 of them, all freshmen."

I'll care about his statement 3 or 4 years from now...We've had some great classes that half of em were gone a season or so later..

I wonder if Switzer harbored the same feelings in the days leading up to the '84 season. If so, we are in for some serious fun the next few years. His studs were all young back then, and he threw them right into the fire.

You have to wonder who he 's so stoked about. My guess would be that he is really high on the athleticism/speed combinations of Jefferson, Clay, Finch and maybe the linebacker we took from the aggies.

Stoops was on the WWLS this morning and was talking about how fast Clay and Finch are and how quickly they can change directions. It all depends on how fast they can pick up the system. I would like to see me some Finch this season... I've been intrigued by his running style every since I saw his highlight video.

A lot of these freshmen will need a year to get some size. Corey Nelson is the LB your talking about I think. He looks fast on the practice videos but is a bit behind physically than the LB's that have been with Schmitty for a while. Now, Geneo Grissom looked pretty good just looking at him. The kid looked like he hit the gym this summer.

I heard him say it tonight. He said "this class is one of the best... if not the best class he's had at OU in a good way."

Still, its a pretty bold statement.

good to see guys still want to burden themselves with playing in norman.

wanted to see this grissom kid everyone's talking about and stumbled on another player or two that happened our way...

When we picked up Grissom, Blake Bell stated something to the effect that he was the happiest guy around because he didn't have to play against him anymore. Just about all of the recruiting services stated that he already has the athletic ability to be an elite DE, but he needed to get bigger, as he does have the frame to do that. That was the only thing that kept him from being at the level of the guys who went to *. BTW, you also have to like OUr other DE recruit, even it's just because of his name- Chuka "The Freight Train" Ndulue!

Just saw number 85 (Grissom) in a practice video, and he looks like impressive. It must be satisfying to have 29 recruits and who are happy with all of them.

Think Finch will see any time this year?

I would be surprised if he didn't. It's going to be hard to keep him off the field. The kid has skillz.
