It would appear as if the Moutaineers are under the NCAA axe now.

So......

If USC's bowl beat down over Ou is taken away...

and

West Virjayjay's bowl beat down over Ou is taken away...

Does that mean Stoopsie's bowl record dramatically improves? ;)

And.. on a serious note.. isn't there a clause in Rich Rod's contract with Meatchicken that allows the school to fire him if West Virjayjay is placed on probation under his watch?

oooh my.. poor Rich Rod.. let the drama commence!

Why do I have a feeling this investigation won't take anywhere near the four years or so that the USC investigation did.

Rodriguez = doosh rocket

he's on a level with Kiffin and Chizik. By that I mean I have no idea why people are so high on him and you can never believe what he says.

So, um, who wants to bet that some disgruntled Hail Victors fan instigated this investigation so that Rich Roddy would be gone from their Bigger Big House?

The article I read seemed to indicate that the allegations against WVU are from the time Rich Rod was there and involve substantially similar practices as are bedeviling Meatchicken. How strange.

First, who would have thought that the Lid himself would be the one to post this gem on OUr board?

As for who is responsible for the alleged violations, it appears Ole Bill may have to take some medicine after the N-C-A-A is finished with Rich Rod.

The alleged violations occurred under both Rodriguez and current coach Bill Stewart.

. . . and . . .

Among the NCAA's allegations involving West Virginia:

• Between the 2005-06 and 2007-08 seasons, non-coaching staff members monitored and/or conducted skill-development activities with football players at least two days a week in the spring and summer.

• Between the 2005-06 and 2007-08 seasons, non-coaching staff members sometimes analyzed video with football players.

• From 2005-06 to 2007-08, non-coaching staff members sat in on coaches' meetings that they were not allowed to attend.

• From 2007-08 to 2009-10, non-coaching staff members did the above and also provided advice and/or corrections to players pertaining to technique and plays.

The NCAA also wants to know if West Virginia believes Rodriguez and/or Stewart knew or should have known of the violations and/or that they were violations of NCAA rules.

I know of a Michigan alum who would be very happy if RichRod was fired.

OMG! Those darn outlaw hillbillies are at it again. If this isn't a lack of institutional control, would someone please tell me what that means?

WVU looks into another possible NCAA violation

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP)—West Virginia is investigating whether some football players wore more than just helmets during the first two days of practice, which would be a violation of NCAA rules.

WVU athletics spokesman Michael Fragale said Tuesday the school is aware some players wore vests during the first two days of practice, when NCAA rules stipulate only helmets are allowed. He says WVU is exploring further and if NCAA rules were violated, will declare a secondary infraction.

West Virginia began practice on Saturday, just two days after the NCAA alleged the West Virginia football program committed five major violations and one secondary violation from 2005 to 2009.

Since it happened at WVU and Meatchicken then it's a no-brainer that Rich Rod knew about it and probably encouraged it.

Dude.. even I am more subtle than that!

That's because you don't have a 80-15-7 hanging over your head like the pokes do. If you can't beat 'em, they must have cheated...

So does the USC and WVU thing mean we get to use the excuse that teams only beat us when they cheat...just like the orange twins do?
