American Capitalism Gone With A Whimper

From Pravda a Russian Newspaper

The irony of this article appearing in the English edition of Pravda (Russian on-line newspaper) defies description. Why can a Russian newspaper print the following yet the American media can't/won't see it? Check Snopes link below.

American Capitalism Gone With A Whimper

It must be said, that like the breaking of a great dam, the American descent into Marxism is happening with breath-taking speed, against the backdrop of a passive, hapless sheeple, excuse me, dear reader, I meant people.

True, the situation has been well prepared on and off for the past century, especially the past twenty years. The initial testing grounds was conducted upon our Holy Russia and a bloody test it was. But we Russians would not just roll over and give up our freedoms and our souls, no matter how much money Wall Street poured into the fists of the Marxists.

Those lessons were taken and used to properly prepare the American populace for the surrender of their freedoms and souls, to the whims of their elites and betters.

First, the population was dumbed down through a politicized and substandard education system based on pop culture, rather than the classics. Americans know more about their favorite TV dramas than the drama in DC that directly affects their lives. They care more for their "right" to choke down a McDonalds burger or a Burger King burger than for their constitutional rights. Then they turn around and lecture us about our rights and about our "democracy". Pride blind the foolish.

Then their faith in God was destroyed, until their churches, all tens of thousands of different "branches and denominations" were for the most part little more than Sunday circuses and their televangelists and top protestant mega preachers were more than happy to sell out their souls and flocks to be on the "winning" side of one pseudo Marxist politician or another. Their flocks may complain, but when explained that they would be on the "winning" side, their flocks were ever so quick to reject Christ in hopes for earthly power. Even our Holy Orthodox churches are scandalously liberalized in America .

The final collapse has come with the election of Barack Obama. His speed in the past three months has been truly impressive. His spending and money printing has been a record setting, not just in America's short history but in the world. If this keeps up for more than another year and there is no sign that it will not, America at best will resemble the Weimar Republic and at worst Zimbabwe .

These past two weeks have been the most breath-taking of all. First came the announcement of a planned redesign of the American Byzantine tax system by the very thieves who used it to bankroll their thefts, losses, and swindles of hundreds of billions of dollars. These make our Russian oligarchs look little more than ordinary street thugs, in comparison. Yes, the Americans have beat our own thieves in the shear volumes. Should we congratulate them?

These men, of course, are not an elected panel but made up of appointees picked from the very financial oligarchs and their henchmen who are now gorging themselves on trillions of American dollars, in one bailout after another. They are also usurping the rights, duties, and powers of the American congress (parliament). Again, congress has put up little more than a whimper to their masters.

Then came Barack Obama's command that GM ' s (General Motors) president step down from leadership of his company. That is correct, dear reader, in the land of "pure" free markets, the American president now has the power, the self-given power, to fire CEOs and we can assume other employees of private companies, at will. Come hither, go dither, the centurion commands his minions.

So it should be no surprise, that the American president has followed this up with a "bold" move of declaring that he and another group of unelected, chosen stooges will now redesign the entire automotive industry and will even be the guarantee of automobile policies.. I am sure that if given the chance, they would happily try and redesign it for the whole of the world, too. Prime Minister Putin, less than two months ago, warned Obama and UK ' s Blair, not to follow the path to Marxism, it only leads to disaster. Apparently, even though we suffered 70 years of this Western sponsored horror show, we know nothing, as foolish, drunken Russians, so let our "wise" Anglo-Saxon fools find out the folly of their own pride.

Again, the American public has taken this with barely a whimper...but a "free man" whimper.

So, should it be any surprise to discover that the Democratically controlled Congress of America is working on passing a new regulation that would give the American Treasury department the power to set "fair" maximum salaries, evaluate performance, and control how private companies give out pay raises and bonuses? SenatorBarney Frank, a social pervert basking in his homosexuality (of course, amongst the modern, enlightened American societal norm, as well as that of the general West, homosexuality is not only not a looked down upon life choice, but is often praised as a virtue) and his Marxist enlightenment, has led this effort. He stresses that this only affects companies that receive government monies, but it is retroactive and taken to a logical extreme, this would include any company or industry that has ever received a tax break or incentive.

The Russian owners of American companies and industries should look thoughtfully at this and the option of closing their facilities down and fleeing the land of the Red as fast as possible. In other words, divest while there is still value left.

The proud American will go down into his slavery without a fight, beating his chest and proclaiming to the world how free he really is. The world will only snicker.

the funny part is that most of the problems cited in this "article" (which is really just a fear mongering op-ed piece that doesnt state any facts or figures) started long before obama came around.

where was your outrage when oil executives decided energy policy (under bush and cheney)?

and what industry has been nationalized?

i mean... if you think its fair that home builders can mark up their product by as much as 70%, while paying the guys that actually build the **** 8 bucks an hour with no benefits, all while the banks loan out money to people to buy those houses that cant afford said houses... on top of which the wall street guys are selling those mortgages as high risk securities, while also selling unbacked insurance policies called "credit default swaps" betting against the mortgage holders... then pay themselves multi million dollar annual bonuses just for the shear volume of money that traded hands from all this ****.

i mean, if you think that's fair... let banks go unregulated and the only guy that gets ****ed is the guy that was spending 10 hours a day making less than **** building the house that was getting sold to the guy that couldnt afford it. i'm not saying lets feel bad for the people that bought the mortgage. if they had half a brain they knew they were getting ****ed, but the fact that the environment thats been set up by the way banks run amok lead to this cluster **** situation we're in right now.

to think this has all occurred since 06 is the single god damned dumbest thing anyone could ever possibly believe.

That's it. Let er fly. Those pesky little forced lending policies weren't a bad thing, were they? No, they were GOOD for the economy, weren't they? If you think that was the brainchild of the private sector, that might be the single *** damndest dumbest thing anyone could possibly believe.

Heh. Did we all miss that the current Pravda is the Russian equivalent of the National Enquirer? The old voice-of-the-Soviet-regime Pravda closed up shop nearly two decades ago.

I don't give random Russian bloggers any more credibility than I give random US bloggers.

GM is actually doing pretty well now compared to where they were headed and Detroit isn't a complete ghosttown (yet).

It seems to have worked in that regard.

I still don't think I agree with it, but that particualr little example rings true.

The rest of the spending though....yeah, no thanks.

Pravda is a great read. I liked the story about the Russian fisherman who caught a green squeeking alien. The story even had a photo of the squeeking alien. (the fisherman, of course, ate the alien).

Pravda is fascinated with the United States and is as brimming with Hollywood gossip as a Wal-Mart check out line women's magazine. Nice to see Pravda go retro with this article and quit talking about Tom Cruise all the time.

I'll agree to some extent about the energy policy but that's not a real big thing that americans worry about. Fact is under Bush the economy till the end when we started buying out car companies and banks under a democrat driving congress because "something dangerous was about to happen" the economy was never really that bad under Bush. Okay after 9-11 but it wasn't that bad that long. The economy recovered and did fairly well throughout the 2000s. Unemployment was never at 9% or even close.

The spending at the end of the Bush era caused a bit of a panic and everything was blamed on republicans and they are to fault at some rate. But right now this administration is just doing what Bush was doing except on steroids. You can blame that on Bush all you want because it is his policies but it doesn't make you right because he was wrong. Also one thing that Bush and those guys did a good job of was keeping the debt from being burdened by the people. If you look at the stats the debt on the average American went DOWN under Bush. Don't believe me here's a graph to prove that point.

http://www.tomllewis.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/6-30-Long-Term-Budget.jpg

Debt per person in America since 1900. Notice what happens after Bush is elected in 2000 the debt per person goes down. Notice about the time the democrats took over just after 2006, it starts going way up.

The economy began showing signs it would tank as early as 2005 and it was being predicted by people on both sides as early as 2003.

We've got bigger problems than any one party.

We need to turn the tracks around and cut spending, which means we will have to cut government jobs, and cut programs, some that are seen as necessary. Keep the tax level about where it is. But those short term losses will be better in the long term. I don't see the government giving up that power though.

GKeeper316
8/5/2010, 01:30 AM
government spending is the only spending goin' on right now...

and all the money that was loaned out to the banks and car companies is actually projected to be paid back ahead of schedule.

despite what fox news tells you, the sky is not falling and society isnt on the brink of collapse.

I don't care about Fox News. But I look at history and look at the same stupid mistakes we are making now where made 70 years ago that caused the great Depression. You can blame that all on a republican too. But the democrat rode with his policies and let the great depression ride for a decade.

Yep if you look at what happened with government acts from 1930-1940 you know why the great depression happened the way it did. The only time the unemployment rate really went down significantly during the decade was when the New Deal was thrown out by the Supreme Court. In other words getting rid of FDR's acts helped the economy. Then he passed another act that was so pro union it destroyed the economy and put unemployment right back at about 25%. It's not a coincidence that almost every act passed from 1930 with the Smoot-Hawley to the Wagner Acts rose unemployment.

Sounds like you should be a builder. If there is unjustified mark-ups, then it should be easy to make millions by just marking up what you (or maybe you mean a government) determines to be "fair" and you'll make a killing since you'll be so much cheaper than all those money grubbing evil profit makers.

If only the government would come in and regulate everything..tell everyone how much money they should make, we'd all be so well off.

Do they not still teach Econ 101 at OU?...could have sworn they did.
