i think Chrissy and Nate combined for 9 picks

Might have been sloppy but Lance Mitchell and Teddy Lehman tore Chrissy up that day.

Funny how we seemed to get stronger through the game and UT seemed to tire. Love that fast defense

a nail biter. We were only up 7-3 before Superman saved the day.

that's 2001 ;)

2002 was the game where Mack took a knee at halftime after the 2pt conversion

we didn't take the lead until the 4th quarter, but it seemed like we had momentum most of the game

Q ran wild for like 250 yards

First half was real sloppy. 2nd half wasn't as bad, I think Q could have ran for 300 if he wanted to.

Oh, the days when OU could make a field goal...how I wish that could happen again. Da*n that defense was fast!

thats the game where they broke out that sprint draw out of the shotgun for Q which Texas was absolutely not prepared for

yeah it was...the first time they ran it, I thought they had messed up the draw play but Q got a big run out of it..and then they ran it again and again...

Oh yeah... and then all of the Texas fans were like "We are doomed now, aren't we?" and yes they were

Man that defense was fun to watch. Sick INT by Woolfolk at 1:58.

Biggest difference between defense then and now? Timely turnovers. We were so aggressive back then that we'd practically scare the offense into turning the ball over. Now we sit back and keep things in front of us...which works, but isn't NEARLY as effective.

Or that season, so aggressive that the defense made Reggie McNeal and josh fields look like superstars

Oh, and one of my favorite TD celebration clips of the 2000s was in this one too...Kejuan Jones scoring the TD and dropping the double-horns down. That's right up there with Gresham drawing his thumb across the Sooners on the front of his jersey in 2007.

Lance Mitchell was a solid hitter that we forget about around here.

It's always kinda cool to go back and look at highlights from those games and see things that I forgot about because I was so drunked up at the time.

I think the TD by Trent just before halftime made the cover of Sports Illustrated the following week.

He was atrocious vs Texas, yet 2-0 as a starter! That is all people generally remember. Winning kind of contorts reality in many ways, especially in evaluation of anybody associated with the 2000 NC team.

Its quite funny how good his overall record is, yet hes pretty much the reason we didnt go the the NC in 01 or possibly 02:D

Nate's offense scored 26 and 28 points in our two losses in 2002. The blame was far from his.

That '02 Texas game was a slow death for the Horns. That 4th quarter really bled it out of them. Peoples fumbles at the goal line and Q just picks it up and strolls on in. He would've rushed for 300+ that day if not for the wicked leg cramps.

Reed Boyd's reaction to this on replay was priceless.

Yeah, almost all of his yards came in the 1st and 4th quarter.

Didn't Q have negative yards for the 2nd and 3rd quarter?

he was a stud. I'd still take him over any other RB we have had in the stoops era. yes...any.

I would take his heart over any other back we've had. We've had a few backs with more talent.

AD has an NFL frame and ended up on a a good running NFL team. Q carried his team in 2002, and pretty much did 1800 yards worth of damage all out of the shotgun draw play. It's damn hard to be an effective runner like that. He was definitely the hardest player to tackle in open field in the Stoops era.

On that same note: who knows if Q would have been as effective had he been that extra eight inches taller and 40-some odd heavier? He's definitely a unique back, though.

Nope, Peterson, and not even close. Amazing how 3 games into Griffin's SENIOR season, half the fan base was calling for him to be benched, in favor of Renaldo Works.

Peterson wasn't the hardest to tackle but he was the most talented. I think we've used our RBs a lot better since AD was here. We used him poorly. His talent got him his big runs and stats. But any talented back will get stats.
