(the headphones not the deodorant you smelly ****s)

My 420's decided to they were tires of being exposed to my sweat at the gym. So I was checking the shure site today for new ones. I found out the SLC4s are on sale at guitar center for $99 ($200 off). Just stopped by the closest one and they matched the website price. Headphones might last a year for me, and these are a lot better then the SE at the same price.

Man, I just have the 110s, and they've been fine for 5 years or so.

mine don't always go in the case, not sure what I did to these, just know I took one side out when I was talking to someone, went to put it back in, no sound. Played with them today and could barely hear the right side, like tweeter only

There. Is. No. Substitute.

I've had multiple sets of Shure earphones in the past, all of them are good, but none of them have come close to the v-modas I've had most recently.

I use the Sony sport deals for the gym, and the Bose over-the-ear headphones on the airplanes. Both work great for my purposes.

#1 - why do they feel compelled to play that crappy-*** music on their website's opening page?

#2 - their prices seem lower than comparable Shure equipment. Although I don't think they have noise cancellation, if that's important to you.

I hate sony ear phones. The last ones I used were no where near as comfortable as the shure ear buds. I use either them or my sennheiser noise cancelling heaphones on planes. Usually the shures are more then enough.

the v-moda looks interesting. I like that they don't have the split cable like the se series of shures, and they look compareable to the lowend ones, but I'd be really suprised if they were comparable to my 420's.

#1 - I don't know but you can stop the music on their page.

#2 - The Shures don't have noise cancellation either. (they call it "sound isolation", which just means the foam or rubber earpiece acts as a barrier against ambient sounds - all in-ear earphones technically are "sound isolating") As far as the price, I was also (pleasantly) surprised at the quality of the sound they produce for the price, plus they are made of high quality materials so they last better than the Shures.

I wouldn't.

I too was skeptical at first when I got mine, but am a firm believer in them now.

I have the 210s or something like that. I had the same issue with sound going out in one. I need to send them in, as I believe they have good service policies. I replaced them with some sennheisers and have been fairly impressed with them for the price point. I also did not like the sonys.

I use the Etymotic ER6i earphones (http://www.etymotic.com/ephp/er6i.aspx). I prefer the foam tips over the silicone tips, they work better on the motorcycle cutting the high frequency wind noise down while still allowing some of the ambient road noise (sirens, etc.) through even while listening to the iPod at a reasonable volume.

At least they dropped their price. I seem to remember them costing mucho a couple years ago.

yeah, I need to find the receipt and contact shure about the 420's, but I wanted something decent while they're getting replaced/repaired or oow (due exposure). They do have 2 year warranty on them, and I bought directly from shure.
