Texas is the defending co-national champions with Nebraska and the Longhorns are finally tied with Oklahoma with 3 national titles. Since the beginning of the 1971 season the slate was clean and it's time to start over now that there's a tie. Here is the breakdown.....

Red River Shootout- Oklahoma leads Texas, 19-17

Heisman winners- Oklahoma leads Texas, 3-2

Outright conference titles- Oklahoma leads Texas, 14-10

Big Bowl wins (RB, SB, OB, CB, FB)- Oklahoma leads Texas, 12-7

Total wins- Oklahoma leads Texas, 354-335

National Championships- Oklahoma leads Texas, 4-1

Preseason AP #1 spots- Oklahoma leads Texas, 7-0

So really....what does Texas have to brag about?

Beating us last year, for one. Stoops' team needs to do something about that.

While I like the big picture as much as anybody, what's just behind you or right in front of you is what matters.

Very good info. But both sides have arguments to hang their hat on (Texas will bring up all-time record vs. OU). What really matters is the most recent victory. It's about the most recent 'scoreboard' if you ask me.

I thought for sure this thread was going to be about the most powerful offense in the history of college football.

Man, I'm disappointed.
