Three days of endless Big 12 talk, where coaches assure us the Big 12 isn't going anywhere (unless they're from CU or NU), the Big 12 is still nationally viable and one of the premiere BCS leagues in the country (it is), and that Texas does not pwn all (it doesn't. seriously!)

Anyway, check out the big huge schedule of events on the Big 12 site here. (http://www.big12sports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=10410&ATCLID=204947279)

Up first at 1 p.m. is the team that can't wait to leave the Big 12, Nebbish. Apparently, Dr. Ozzy is skipping Big 12 days to appear at Big Ten days. Oooo, that'll really stick it Texas, Tommy.

Next at 1:45 is Baylor. Prepare for endless "are you sure your knee is OK, Griffin?" questions... and perhaps "how did it feel to get left out of the Pac-16 discussion?" trolling.

Iowa State gets some time in the spotlight at 2:30. As a sidenote, NP loves their fight song. It's fun... so long as they're not upsetting your team on your home turf (tee hee @ Nebbish)

Finally, none other than aTm at 3:15. SECede, SECede, SECede, lol.

Post any articles you see here. It's in Irving, Texas (no wonder Dr. Osbourne isn't showing up?) A more complete schedule with all scheduled appearances is here in PDF format.

Also, I noticed on DMN's site that ex-Tulsa coach Kraggy resigned from his position as WR coach at A&M. Dude just hasn't been the same since he left Tulsa, although this job leaving was due to a family emergency.

Tulsa has had some good coaches, foot & basket ball.

i took one class there, way back in the 50s.

i remember when Jerry Rhome set a bunch of records there that i thot were untouchable, but Bill Guy Anderson broke some of them the very next year.

Link (http://www.tulsaworld.com/sportsextra/article.aspx?subjectid=231&articleid=20100726_298_0_IRVING29014)

“I will not be taking any questions in regard to any Big Ten issues,” Pelini said. “Our focus is on the Big 12, which is a great conference.”

Bo also addressed the fact that they don't have a good QB. This is the biggest reason why their last year in the Big 12 will suck... that and a lot of teams quadruple circling that game on the schedule. Take down the traitor!

;)

DMN has more on Griffie's snub for Big 12 media day here. (http://collegesportsblog.dallasnews.com/archives/2010/07/robert-griffin-iii-not-the-only-story-go.html) Apparently, Art thought we were all talking about him enough and he wanted more players to get kudos or something.

KC Star says Griff's more humble. I had no idea he wan't before, but apparently he's moreso now... ok. Link (http://campuscorner.kansascity.com/node/966)

He was asked about the Dez/TFRW thing:

Link (http://www.tulsaworld.com/news/article.aspx?subjectid=231&articleid=20100727_231_0_IRVING395298)

Apparently, Mizzou players were too fat previoulsy, lol:

Ozzy is getting old. Maybe after all these years of Big 6, Big 8 and Big 12 competition, he forgot which "Big" conference he was apart of?

Bears senior linebacker Antonio Johnson is not shy about touting which direction he believes the Baylor program is heading.

In fact, Monday, he guaranteed the Bears would defeat OU and/or Texas. This season.

Baylor is 0-19 all-time against OU, including a 33-7 defeat in Norman last season.

I know the Bill Snyder was once Stoopster's mentor and boss, but I still can't forget 2003's knee job he orchestrated... argh...

Link to KSU presser story (http://www.tulsaworld.com/sportsextra/article.aspx?subjectid=231&articleid=20100727_231_0_IRVING898603)

On a positive note, KSU has no Freeman anymore and can't figure out what to do at QB, so they'll probably suck this year, even against the Division 3-5 opponents Snyder scheduled... likely. I just assume so, since those are usually the teams he plays :D

"The positive aspect of that is that all three of them will dililgently compete," Snyder said. "Consequently I think that makes themselves and each other better. I honestly believe that."

Link (http://www.tulsaworld.com/sportsextra/OU/article.aspx?subjectid=92&articleid=20100727_93_0_IRVING991064)

Right now, there’s no affirmative interest by our members in expanding whatsoever,” Beebe said. “There’s so much excitement about the round-robin in football, seeing each other every year, and the double-round robin in basketball"

As low as my opinion is of Beebe, I think the teams are onto something in getting to have games with Texas, OU and maybe other soon-to-step-up powers every other season at home to sell season tickets... and then basketball season, getting to have a home game with KU, UT and other likely ranked opponents, possibly OSU, A&M or Baylor... KSU too.

The AP did a fun read on how Tuberville is doing things differently than Leach at this big 12 media day.

Here's a link. (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2010/football/ncaa/wires/07/27/2060.ap.fbc.big.12.media.day.1st.ld.writethru.0904/)

Among fun differences, the players and coaches all dressed in suits, they showed up an hour early (instead of an hour late like Leach), etc. etc.

I still think Leach got a raw deal at Tech last December and wish them nothing but the utmost losing and disrespect, but Tubs seems to be treating this job as more than a stepping stone back to the SEC (but I'm sure any lurking Tech fans know that's exactly what this is)

Basically, Dan Hawk is deciding between starting his son and losing his job, or starting a better QB and still losing his job because neither of them are going to get CU "10 wins and no excuses."

Amazing how far they have fallen. Not the end of the world though... and definitely not the end of the Big 12.
