Well Gentlemen we are just over 9 hours away until the Open Championship at St. Andrews begins.

Thoughts on the field this year? Or the weather? Or about the fact that Tiger is going to win it?

I for one think it's going to be a great tournament this year, and as T.O. likes to say. Get your popcorn ready. Awful weather, with nasty rain and high winds, kind of like playing golf in Oklahoma in late October or Late March.

ESPN Coverage begins at 3AM Central Time with Tiger scheduled to tee off at 4:09AM.

I'll be watching, who else? :pop:

Great start to the tournament....lets see how competitive it stays when the weather inevitably turns.

Yeah the players who played in the late afternoon definitely got the shaft when it comes to weather. Wind picked up quite a bit, and the rain picked up, although it did rain early in the morning as well.

Lefty sure as s**t struggled.

Why? Because a guy you've never heard of (and with a gorgeous swing, btw) won it in a runaway?

Because they might as well be playing in the middle of a field, not to mention those bunkers arent even fair to professional golfers. You have guys going out in the morning and shooting -8 and guys who play in the afternoon shooting +5, that type of stuff happened almost every single day. The weather was crap, off and on every single day pretty much.

St. Andrews sucks pretty much, I dont care about the history

you amuse me, I generally think the US Open sucks, and the Open Championship gets it right.

Im not criticizing the Open Championship as a whole, just this course. It is horrible

zero drama today.

the thing I hate is the 18th is drivable and is a mile wide. The course should have a tough finishing hole. At least 17 is a beast.

I like that course, I don't care for the: oh so carefully manicured courses we find here stateside. Besides that, they all played the same course, and so had the same chance to win.

bingo....the only way this weekend could have been topped would have been for a typical sideways rain.

Golf the way it was meant to be played. Not USA brand "target golf."

We sometimes forget over here, that golf is a game we did not invent.

I doubt anyone on this board had heard of this guy before the weekend, but some drama today would have been nice; both of the Opens have produced some really strange winners over the last decade
