Jasmine or Thai fragrant (Kao Hom Mali) rice is my favorite. I love how it smells when it is cooking.

I occasionally cook red rice, a very low grade of rice that had traditionally been served only to prisoners and pigs. Now, they know that it is one of the most nutritious varieties.

Nope. Rice is loaded with carbs. It's actually better for you if you eat it fried or with butter all over it. The fat slows down the absorption of the sugars - which turn into stored fat. Of all the starches I've quit eating, I probably miss rice the most. Well that and pasta. And taters. And dessert. And...

And, herding the thousands of those tiny little grains of rice goodness into your mouth by chopsticks. It's evil, I tell you. The skinny folk in this world are getting way fat and Dean is right.
