I'm thinking of trying a new type of sandwich for dinner today. Any suggestions?

Has promise, but not enough pork.

You obviously underutilize the bacon element.

I love parsley.

BPT? I've also done a Bacon/Basil/Tomato, and it is awesomes.

Less loafy, more pork?

Porkchop Sandwiches. I'd get the Fensler Film GI Joe youtube, but the client I'm at locks that stuff down like Fort Knox.

I just had a Cuban recently, so that's out. The Kurdish/Mexican joint known for it's torta's down the street folded.

Beat boneless chicken breast to tenderize, salt and pepper generously, and saute in olive oil. Thin slice.

On whole wheat bread: chicken, a slice of provolone, sliced pineapple, and mayo.

Not until football season. It's not really a summer sandwich.

You have to keep eating them until your body adjusts, it's like the water in Mexico.

As much as I enjoyed living in Omaha, and as much as I typically enjoy eating wherever I go, I just couldn't acquire some of the tastes in Nebraska. Couldn't stand the Runza and couldn't stand Valentino's. And couldn't find any decent chinese food. Except for a whole-in-the-wall joint out in McCook.

I mostly eat burgers from Runza, and Val's does suck. Did you try the Bohemian Cafe, and Piccolos when you lived there?

You know, in a lot of the rest of the country "runzas" are called bierocks. Why does Nebraska have to be all uppity and have a different name for them?

Nah, we were sheltered and uninformed most of the time (as well as in medical residency). We thought we were cool when we went to Goldberg's every now and then.

Because the bierocks callers are afraid of trademark lawsuits.

Heh. Except that the sandwich WAY pre-dates the Runza name. In Eastern Europe they're still called pierogies.

That and the Runza was German's from Prussia, and Bierocks are typically German's from Russia.

How about a knuckle sandwich? (Someone had to say it.)

My wife loves a good Monte Cristo. Ham and swiss on white, battered and deep fried, dusted with powdered sugar and dipped in raspberry jam.
