Dark Liquor and I don't agree, so I drink the Gins and the Vodkas.

I tend to prefer Tanquery 10 and Reyka Vodka.

Solution to all your problems: light rum.

I never saw much point in vodka - why would I want booze that doesn't taste like anything? I'd rather buy Brazilian cachaca.

Gin and tonic is ok. I have a rather large bottle of Hendrick's in my cabinet.

I'd rather root for Texas than drink rum.

I used to be the same way (though I much prefer vodka over gin.) Ketel One FTW (Citrus flavor, if available.)

Over time I've tried to man up and acquire a taste for whisky and bourbon. Now I enjoy a good Jack and coke or Jim Beam when out at dinner.

It's not that I don't like whisky. It's that I have two drinks and feel like I've been hit with a ball peen hammer. Same with dark beer.

Sobieski is really good bang for the buck

Nothing beats Ketel One though.

Rum sucks.

ketel one, skyy, absolute, smirnoff, stoli.... all ****. basically watered down everclear. very few vodkas are made the traditional way (from potatos) and are mostly grain alcohols.

if you want a good, real vodka, made the way its supposed to be made, drink chopin.

Ill check it out, I discovered this great brand called Mr. Bostons Virgin Islands Rum, it comes in a huge bottle and is cheap, to me it tasted like a little sweeter version of Bacardi.

Plymouth is the best gin that can be had. I used to swear by Tanqueray until a buddy of mine (who happens to have bartend at Bouchon in LA) until he turned me onto Plymouth.

Monopolowa is the best vodka you can buy for your money. It's made of actual potatoes in Poland and is cheap as hell. It's not one of those snotty boutique brands so you're not paying to drink what some idiot celeb quaffs.

I'll second the Rhum Barbancourt suggestion. It's my favorite, and the more years shown on the label, the better. Second place is Appleton, again, the older the better. Other than that, Cruzan or 10 Cane. (Which I always think looks like iocaine. "I've spent the last few years building up an immunity to iocaine powder...")

We have a local bar, owned by a Sooner from Tulsa, that offers some of us special tasting parties (free). He will bring us each a tray of shot glasses with the day's booze of choice, nothing labeled.
The vodka distributor shows up on Thursday afternoon and loves our group as we tend to talk the owner into ordering new vodkas.
Very interesting results with light beers, dark beers, gin and rum, and vodka. Turns out that I don't really like what I thought I did.

This how I feel about flavored vodkas, but I feel a Martini or a tonic can be enjoyed with your manhood intact.

Of course that martini had better be clear and not include any such bastardizations as chocolate.

Ever had a martini? You better have your big boy drawers on to drink more than one. Straight Gin/vodka with a plash of olive juice and even less vermouth is like drinking whiskey straight.
