Maybe Sean Penn can write them a check.

Have you seen Milk?

Dude was awsome in that movie. I thought Mickey Rourke was gonna snag the Oscar for The Wrestler, but Penn's performance was just too good in the end.

I guess this all relates to Sean Penn's acting skills somehow.

Have you seen Mystic River? Sean Penn didn't win the Oscar for that one, but man was he awesome.

my anger is somewhat assuaged by the fact the media reports exaggerated the situation a tad...imagine that?

Anyhoo, a company officer interviewed by our local paper stated what really happened was the Despot-For-Life Chavez "asked" his phony baloney legislature for authority to nationalize (a/k/a steal) said Tulsa-owned rigs.

Sooo, we have a case of an inchoate theft and conspiracy to commit theft at this juncture. I'm still mad, but it ain't a done deal yet. And people should still avoid CITGO products because CITGO is owned lock stock and barrel by the Government of Venezuala, which Chavez wears like a sock puppet and uses to bankroll his tyrannical regime.

So the Venezuelan gov't appropriated equipment owned by a US company after the venezuelan firm partnered with said US company stopped paying its obligations to the US company? And this has happened before? And Obama and Bush do/did nothing?

Isn't this the kinda thing that aircraft carriers are for? Thomas Jefferson would have already gone all barbary coast on their asses.

In 1995 Sean Penn was nominated for his gut-wrenching role in Dead Man Walking. Unfortunately, that same year Nicholas Cage gave a salty performance in Leaving Las Vegas which snagged him the Oscar.

I think KC's point is: actors should stick to what they're good/great at, and STFU about politics. ;)

Agreed!

In 1985, Penn gave a memorable performance in the role of Andrew Daulton Lee in The Falcon and the Snowman, which closely followed an actual criminal case. Lee was a former drug dealer by trade, convicted of espionage for the Soviet Union and was originally sentenced to life in prison.

Good flick, remember the scene where they made margaritas in the paper shredder? Awesome!

Great film. Even if you're neither a Penn fan nor a liberal, you'll enjoy this film.

If someone posts a nude pic of Sean Penn we won't hear from KC//CRIMSON for about 30 minutes.

I'm not gay, but if I was I would like to think I could do better than Sean Penn. (His mother was hot in The Twilight Zone though. Better acting too.)

Whew, that's a relief then.

Well now that Hugo is done with H&P for the moment he can continue on with furthering the advancement of his socialist utopia by stealing food and such.

Anger unassauged, legislature granted it.

Well, of course they did. The Venezuelan legislature is just a bunch of Hugo Chavez yes-men. If they weren't they've been shot already.
