When is Utah leaving? Will they ever play in the MWC at the same time as Boise State, or is BSU replacing the Utes?

After playing one final season in the Mountain West this fall, Utah will join the Pac-10 -- or whatever the expanded league's name will become -- in 2011. There is a guaranteed BCS spot for the Pac-10 winner, but that will mean getting through a schedule of one of college football's most prominent conferences.


Boise State will join the MWC effective July 1, 2011.

So, no. Utah and BSU will not play in the same conference.

Has Boise State got enough TV market interest after all the media going down on them in 2007 for us to justify adding them?

UT will try to keep any threat from a non-BCS conference out of the Big12. Getting beat by a team coming from the "little kids table"...they won't risk the embarrassment.
