Currently ASU and Clemson are scoreless in the 2nd
The top half of the bracket, TCU vs UCLA and Florida vs Florida st will be playing today as well, weather permitting
Collier11
6/21/2010, 10:58 AM
Clemson just took a 1-0 lead in the 2nd
Collier11
6/21/2010, 11:01 AM
Clemson up 2-0, I dont think ASU is pitching their ace
NormanPride
6/21/2010, 11:19 AM
Then they either don't respect Clemson, or think they will need him more in the second game regardless.
Two errors from ASU already? Rut-roh.

6/21/2010, 11:27 AM
Dont get me wrong, Blair is really good 12-0 with a 3.43 era but they also have Rogers and Lambson who all have substantially lower ERAs but less IPs. Not completely sure who is the ace by looking at their stats
Collier11
6/21/2010, 11:29 AM
It looks like Blair was their highest drafted pitcher so I might be wrong?
Collier11
6/21/2010, 11:34 AM
2-1 now, Clemson still up
Collier11
6/21/2010, 12:06 PM
5-1 Clemson in the 5th, this is setting up well for us guys.
If Clemson wins, their #2 pitcher has a 5+ era. Their overall staff behind him isnt great either although they can rake at the plate
NormanPride
6/21/2010, 12:14 PM
Does Shore match up well with them? ASU is doing terribly... maybe it's the rain/humidity?
Collier11
6/21/2010, 12:24 PM
I dont know enough about them to know but with the way he has pitched lately you have to think he matches up well against most teams
Collier11
6/21/2010, 12:25 PM
6-1 now for Clemson
NormanPride
6/21/2010, 12:27 PM
6-1, mid 6th. Clemson is hitting really, really well. Hrm.
Collier11
6/21/2010, 12:52 PM
6-2 in the 7th
Collier11
6/21/2010, 01:10 PM
ASU gets bases loaded and no outs and only scores 1, 6-3 going to the 8th
NormanPride
6/21/2010, 01:23 PM
End of the eighth, same score.

6/21/2010, 01:27 PM
Cool. I'll take my chances with Clemson if we can avoid the top seed for now.
Boomer.....
6/21/2010, 01:28 PM
Exactly.
Collier11
6/21/2010, 01:33 PM
Ill take my chances with a team that has a bunch of 4 and 5 era's over a team with a bunch of 2 and 3 era's any day :D
Collier11
6/21/2010, 01:35 PM
Goin to the bottom of the 9th
Collier11
6/21/2010, 01:36 PM
1 out
NormanPride
6/21/2010, 01:36 PM
Two outs, one on. Same score.
NormanPride
6/21/2010, 01:37 PM
Ballgame?
NormanPride
6/21/2010, 01:39 PM

I would guess the guy with the most IPs would be their ace.
Collier11
6/21/2010, 02:15 PM
So Zach Neal is our ace?
Eielson
6/21/2010, 02:21 PM
So Zach Neal is our ace?
Apparently you think he is...
Good to know that our ace Neal is a big game pitcher, had possibly the worst game of his OU career yesterday
Eielson
6/21/2010, 02:36 PM
Anyway, Rodgers and Lambson are relievers.
Collier11
6/21/2010, 02:41 PM
Apparently you think he is...
He pitched Fridays all season, it is quite obvious though if youve watched the last cpl of weeks that the title of "ACE" has shifted to Shore, that was my point

So is it safe to assume that Neal pitched the most innings this year because he was our ace for most of the season? Anyway, the IP difference between Shore and Neal isn't very big.
NormanPride
6/21/2010, 03:02 PM
So if Neal used to be our ace and Shore is now, why did we start with Rocha?
Collier11
6/21/2010, 03:03 PM
well they were saying on the telecast lastnite that Golloway has said that instead of pitching his 3 best on the weekend he used Rocha for midweek games to help our RPI since we played some good midweek teams. Basically this team doesnt have a Daniel Mccutcheon or someone like that so I would say that Shore is our big game pitcher, Rocha is 1AA, and Neal is our #3 guy, thats how theyve been pitching lately atleast.
Might be why we didnt sweep some series that we should have also

Well, Neal started off very avg, had about 6-8 really good starts in a row and then has pitched badly the last two. He is just too inconsistent

Now let's just go take care of another South Carolina team and really put ourselves in the driver's seat.

Here's hoping for an OU-TCU championship series.
Eielson
6/21/2010, 03:41 PM

I don't really think we have a true ace.
NormanPride
6/21/2010, 03:42 PM
That would be pretty cool, if only because we've already beaten them twice. I'd be overjoyed just to make it.
NormanPride
6/21/2010, 03:43 PM
I don't really think we have a true ace.
That's what I thought. Shore seems to be the best right now, but in a week? Who knows.
Collier11
6/21/2010, 03:45 PM
I don't really think we have a true ace.
Def not, a true ace is a dominant pitcher and we dont have that, although Shore has dominated his last two starts, both in huge games

Awesome! I was not looking forward to playing Arizona State.

Yea, Gerrit Cole is quite an MLB prospect. I think OU shelled him when we played in LA last season though.
Collier11
6/21/2010, 10:53 PM
and now its 5-3, yikes

Yes, but his patented jump/pass would be callled a balk.
