NP and I watched most of the game yesterday, taking a big long break for that mid-game weather delay (looks like a lot of fans didn't return afterwards to the stadium)

We really, really have a good infield with all the double plays I've been seeing in the Virgina series and now the CWS (or at least it seems that way).

They are fun to watch, even if they can make your heart stop with bases loaded, up by one with one out to go :eek:

I think the Bradley walk to get to the last batter was the call of the game. Balls of Titanium for that. We missed 7 and 8, but 9 was scary enough for the entire game!

It looked like incredibly heavy rain affecting the pitching and Duke just trying not to pitch inside, lest the ball slip outta his hand and hit the batter... and not trying to pitch too far outside, lest the catcher have to chase after it in the rain.

I think the rain definitely effected the pitching that late in the game. Fortunately, the fielding was quite sound despite the elements.

All 4 pitches were well outside and almost in the same spot. He was was their best hitter and I thought that it was sort of intentional also. Whatever the case, it worked.

IMO, he was trying to paint the very edge and get Bradley to chase something, but his outside stuff wasn't working. I also think the Ump wasn't calling anything to that side, but would call a pitch that shaves your armpit a strike. Either way, better to be safe than sorry, and pitch to someone who won't be a first rounder next year. :D
