With this "new conference," what are the chances after a 9 game in-conference slate is in place that we wiggle a few BIG X dates around and schedule some of the big OOC dates outside of the first three weeks? Like, for instance, playing Notre Lame in Novemer instead of right off the bat?

It's possible, but I don't think Stoops would like it. He likes having the conference schedule unbroken to keep the team focused on the goal of winning it.

It's worked well for us so far. :D

Haha @ Notre Lame.

I agree that we shouldn't schedule in November, I think focusing on the winning the conference is a great goal.

I assume the goal is to get some higher profile games later in the year, with only Texas guaranteed to be a marquee match-up and no CCG? I like the logic of it. I wonder if we'll see this kind of move if we ever find ourselves lagging behind in the BCS standings because of a "what have you done for me lately?" mindset from poll voters.

But, but, but....we're going to have to play KU, KSU, ISU and Mizzoooouuuu every year now instead of twice every 4 years. Our schedule just got immensely tougher. No need to bring in a power house like Notre Dumb at the end of the season.

Notre Dame's been slated for October 27th for a while now.

Since Notre Dame's not in a conference, they must have all kinds of trouble scheduling late games when everybody is focusing on their conference race.

Maybe OkSt could set something up with the Domers? The ags are never worried about the conference race.

ND schedules 'SC fairly late in the season each year. I wonder if that will become a problem when the Pac12 adds a CCG.

What they should do is move the OU/TX game to the Friday after Thanksgiving. Hell yea!

Good chance each yr that would decide all the marbles...

It seems very little changes would need to be made for 2011, is that when all this happens??

@FSU
vs Tulsa
Non-Conf TBA
add 10/01 - Kansas
10/08 - Texas (Dallas)
10/15 - at Iowa State
10/22 - Missouri
10/29 - at Kansas St (instead of CU)
11/05 - Texas A&M
11/12 - at Texas Tech
11/19 - Baylor
11/26 - OSU

Granted other teams schedules would have to be looked at..and they will probably start from scratch..so this was a waste of time..LOL

I think a strong OOC late in the season would serve to set us apart from the competition. I'm all for it...good luck getting Bob to go for it.
