BURN! Teaches you not to worry about grammar on a sports board. Not that I support writting uneducated garbage, just next time maybe do a spell check when correcting somebody else for their grammar.

I like Al, but it does seem as of recently he just agrees with whatever anyone else is saying. Or maybe I just didn't know it before. Still better than Traber though, that guy spews his retarded conservative bs all of the radio.

Al was pretty much intolerable when i left Norman a few years back. I can't imagine him getting any better in that time span.

Sure he has been on the air for forever, but if he were really any good, he would be in a better radio market. At this point I don't think he could get a job in a better market than OKC/Tulsa.

who iz u all 4?

i think its a toss up for traber and bbj.

although mark rodgers has been pretty cynical the past 2 weeks, today he even said "I'm not an OU fan." He's also a fan of the round robin format. Since he left KOCO, he's started unraveling...

Hey, I never called anyone out. I was just saying that is what that guy gets for correcting people's grammar. Spelling was never my best subject in school anyways. I graduated from the fine University of Oklahoma, you can blame them for not edumacating me properly.

He was hired away and went to KC for awhile, I think in the mid-80's.

Some don't want to "move up" if they have it pretty good. Everything that I have ever heard him say about that time was it wasn't any fun. News people tend to stay in mid size markets as they get older, there have been some news anchors who were in larger markets move back to Austin because they like it better. Sometimes when you get older you find out "getting ahead" isn't always what it is cracked up to be and you go back to what you like.

That said...he is pretty worthless as a sports talk guy.

I guess with the deal he signed to be the face of Hudiburg plus his sports animal money, he decided he could leave television.

The gossip I heard is that he is going through a divorce and a lot of it had to do with his hours. Now that he is getting a divorce he doesn't want to work late nights so he can be with his kids more. The new gig is more like a "normal" job in regards of hours.

Al's "character" he's developed isn't exactly fun to listen to, but the guy knows his Sooner Sports. In the 918, I'm a MUCH bigger fan of 1430. None of their guys pretend to be Christian; none of the pretend to be much of anything other than guys just reporting sports news and having some fun with it.

he took a job with the lucky star casino as a marketing director. better hours he said on the radio so he can spend more time with his kids.

the divorce would explain the cynicism

Are these ****ers ever in studio or did the wrecking ball take that place down?
Everytime I turn on the radio they are "somewhere" Koncho Casino,Taco Cabana,Sonic, blah blah blah.

I was one of those gullible people who would call in and get a free Johnnies lunch certificate, the day I was up there to pick it up Traber walks back to where the studios are. I asked one of the guys up front what he was like, pretty funny as the dude behind the desk called him an arrogant prick.:D

Hey, you'd be cocky, too if you'd been tagged as one of the worst players in Orioles history.

Well I wouldn't be cocky, but I wouldn't ever be ashamed of making it in the big leagues even if I sucked.

I would of loved to play football for lets say the Jets and be called the worst jets player ever. At least I played in the NFL.

Brent Musburger happens to be misguided, and when I see him in person and stick my size 11.5 1982 Airforce Nike Trainer up his backside, I think he may have a change of opinion about OU! If not, I hope to leave an everlasting impression of what it feels like to face our Defense on the Ol' 50yrd-line. Until then he remains as always a Anti-OU-Pr**K in my book!
