They will probably get lobbied and will stay in but to those that don't wan the Big X, there's a chance.

A BOR meeting is going to be online.

Again I don't see them having anywhere to go outside of like the Mountain West.

Tech see's how A&M scored big by dissenting (I'm surprised more people aren't on to that) and they want to try to do the same thing. Day late and a dollar short. Maybe they would have a shot with Cap'n Leach at the helm, but I really don't think have a peg to stand on now.

Why should those 3 schools (http://lubbockonline.com/filed-online/2010-06-15/beebe-hopeful-tech-will-recommit-slimmer-big-12#comment-107485)

By katyvm (http://lubbockonline.com/users/katyvm) | 06/15/10 - 01:00
Why should those 3 schools get a bigger piece of the pie??? Didn't Texas Tech provide the most memorable upset of UT ever???

Ever, ever? Ever, ever, ever, ever?

Can't really blame them. I don't understand how A&M got the big slice either.

Not only that but if UT bolts in a couple of years and the Pac10 has already gone to 12 (or more) TTU is going to be left out in the cold.

Even if they go to 16 that only leaves 4 spots now that all the major confs have gone to 12, so someone is getting left out.

And I'll put it this way, it ain't going to be UT or OU.

And considering A&M and OSU are the only little brothers anyone cares about TTU is doing the only smart thing right now and not drinking the happy juice UT is selling.

Ever, ever? Ever, ever, ever, ever?

I think we upset UT fans a lot more than Tech ever did that season :D

Also, Tech once depended on the legislature to get them into a big boy conference. The legislature is exactly what is going to keep Texas-funded schools from stepping out of line once again.

Per Sports Business Daily, FSN is pledging to increase its Big 12 deal by 500 percent.

Let Taco Tech walk, kick out Baylor or ISU, we're back to the Big 8

I hope I am not alone in saying EFF THE EFF ESS ENN.

They need to get their college football games on REGULAR Fox, not FSN. FSN sucks in high def. Their announce teams suck on commentary. Their broadcasts are feeble in comparison to the other networks.

GET THE SAME GUYS AND THE CHANNEL YOU BROADCAST NFL AND BCS GAMES ON THE REGULAR SEASON, STAT!

 rant over. fsn sucks, even if they pay us boatloads more.

So? Let Tech go and add Houston. Or Air Force. Or BYU. Or Jenks. Doesn't matter.

From a dollar perspective, it really wouldn't matter that much.

Schedule a vote -- and the fighting tubberville's will be ready to sign over their souls.

If ever someone didn't have any leverage in a no-win situation, it's Tech right now. They're just pouting.

That's what it looks like to me. And we may try and add a team like Arkansas if they leave if we can fork over 20 mil for them.

We'll trade the SEC Tech for Arky straight up.

1,2,3 no take backs.

What Tech has contributed to the Big 12 conference:

1- Sheryl Swoopes, the highest paid endorser womens basketball player in history!
Why that is irrelevant: She declared bankruptcy after losing it all.

2- Bobby Knight, legendary winner of 900 games!
Why that is irrelevant: 661 of those wins came at Indiana and now Tech is stuck with Bobby's not-as-talented son.

3- Mike Leach, mad scientist genius and quirky offensive mastermind
Why that is irrelevant: Well, they fired him, so even they don't care about him anymore.

4- Michael Crabtree's catch to beat Texas and send the Big 12 South into a three-way tie!
Why that is irrelevant: Because Tech fans rushed the field three times, proof that none of them understand football.

In conclusion, Tech is now irrelevant.

btw, i think either tech is with the other texas teams with the new big 12/10/? or poke's AD is mistaken.

Oklahoma State athletic director Mike Holder said he's excited about the future of the Big 12 now that OSU, Oklahoma, Texas, Texas Tech and Texas A&M have turned down the Pac 10's invitation.

Don't see where the hell Tech would go if they leave the Big 12. Maybe the MWC or C-USA. They have no leverage.

ndpruitt03

And they won't get 10 mil at either one of those.

Now's tech's best chance to end up in at least a mediocre conference, what with the Tear the pirate went on in the last 6 years or so. If they wait 5 years, they'll end up in a conference with North Tx, Sam Houston, Houston Baptist, Baptist school for the blind, and the blind boys of Alabama.
