Yes...b/c that PAC12 contract may go to $7 million per team if you're lucky. THanks for donating 50% of your BIG12 revenues for the next two years.

Major suckage, praying that Aggy heads to the SEC and kills the Big 12 once and for all.

I think the conferences all just got nervous when all the realignment talk started, once it began to settle a bit people realized that the mega conferences arent good for college sports right now. Thats my opinion anyways

Looking around at hornfans and texags today. Assuming that soonerfans, hornsfans, and texags gives a relative feeling of the fan bases of each of the three schools that actually have a say here (because they are the ones with other options), officials at each of these three schools are going to be VERY unpopular for a while.

Plus $10 mil for leaving the Big 12... um... what was CU thinking...

One reason to be unpopular is Bebee is still the Commissioner!

texas just saved a conference and thousands of jobs. I'm happy with them.

Bring on Air Force and BYU to the North.

We get more money, more power, easier still to get to the conf and natl title. Losing Nebraska isnt a huge loss for the Big 12 right now, traditionally yes but presently No

Even if we go back to 12 which we will probably do eventually, I think they need to rethink the alignment instead of north versus south divisions and mix them up so we are not stuck with the four TX schools all the time.

Why not play 9 conference schools a year and mix them up?

they are going to as long as it is 10 teams

How do we have more power when Texas pretty much ran the show?

MeMyself&Me

Those or you that are liking it, would you still like it if it meant that the OU-Texas game was moved to Jerryworld and played in December?

You all assume just because we stayed quiet that texas had all the power

The Big 12 staying alive has nothing to do with Cotton Bowl vs Jerry World, that is a private contract.

Having 10 teams is the only way they can dish out that much money for each team I guess. But you are right. Much easier to win the conference title or even go undefeated now. I just hope there isn't a schedule strength decline that hurts MNC chances in the future.

Collier11
6/14/2010, 06:54 PM
Thats why we will continue to schedule a good non conf slate

6/14/2010, 06:59 PM
Well we are set up well in that department so far.

Here is what we have through 2020 so far...

Know anyone in a position of power and leadership where they say almost nothing except "we will go where XXX goes?"

We've heard in a few places that this new TV contract requires that game to be moved to December to replace a CCG. Don't know if it's true but wondering if that effects your opinion on it. I personally HATE the idea of a diminished 10 member conference so I still am not liking it even if the game isn't moved.

Collier11
6/14/2010, 07:17 PM
you all realize that the only conference who made a significant change was the Big 10 with Neb, why do you all the sudden think that the Big 12 sucks when it has consistently been a top 3 conference for the last decade?

Leaders win the Conference 6 times this decade.

we don't have to say crap.

ohhhh cooooool texas is the spoken team!!! good for them. does that make us lose games automatically?

This isn't about winning and losing, it's about business. And in that department, we allow Texas to gain even more power, make more TV revenue than any of it's conference members by agreeing to let them launch their own TV deal, and pull the strings on this entire fiasco from day 1. That's not being a leader, at least publically. Maybe more was done behind the scenes, and no one will every really know.

I think OU and AtM are allowed to have their own TV deals also.
