Keith Jackson...PT throwing out of our own end zone on 3rd down...Sitting in the cold-*** rain watching my first live OU/NU game (and Switzer's last)...Getting my 2000 season tix in the mail, and the NU ticket had a pic of the south goal post-thinking "What if we could actually beat them and tear that thing down?"- then we did.

i just watched the Soonersports version of the 2000 game. It's awesome to see Seth Littrell absolutely stick people on blocks and picking up the blitz.

You know what? I have lots of memories of Nebraska football, most of them from watching television, but one of my favorite memories of OU/NU was just a couple years ago....you guys kicked the everlovin' crap out of us, but my wife and I had great time hanging out at the SF.com tailgate. To this day we tell everyone how great the OU gameday atmosphere was and how much fun the experience was. I see lots of people talk about how Nebraska fans are rude or OU fans are rude, but that's never been my experience. My fan experience in Norman has always been fun and something I come home telling good stories about.

I'm really sad that I may have lost my only opportunity to see OU play in Lincoln. To me, this is like saying that UNC would never again play a game at Cameron Indoor. End of an era that has meant so much.

The look on Toms Face when the Orange bowl Picked OU to replay em in 78 :D
WE had lost in Lincoln that Season 17-14

And even better was the Orange Bowl rep's Freudian slip... "We would like to invite the University of Nebraska to lose... err meet Oklahoma University in the Orange Bowl."

I was lucky enough to attend in '83, '85 (reverse!!), '88 (if only a broken leg was CT's only problem), '94, 2000 (we're back!!), and 2004 (pop guns)

thanks for the memories huskers but you guys are the ones bailing out--too bad so sad

Yes! The '84 goal line stand by...#37? Anybody remember the guy's name?

I remember the games of the late 70s, especially the two in 1978: I.M. Hipp versus Billy Sims in the Huskers 17-14 regular season win; then, OU hanging onto a 31-24 win in in the Orange Bowl after leading 31-10.

The 1987 game, Lord! So much riding on that game and Charles Thompson starting for the injured Jamelle Holieway. I don't think I've everjumped so high as I did when Patrick Collins busted that long TD run late in the 3rd to break 7-7 tie. What a battle of defenses!

Those games in the 70s and 80s were golden, always the day after Thanksgiving. I love the memories of eating leftovers and watching OU and NU battle for the Big 8 title.

'76 in Lincoln sitting on the sidelines with the Pride. 20 degrees and wind 30 mph. Shaking so bad I couldn't play. We stayed in Manhattan that night and woke up to 6 inches of snow on the ground.

'75 stomped them in Norman after the surprise loss to Kansas and a 1-point win in Columbia sent us to the Orange Bowl against Michigan.

Collins was so agile on that run. Twice defenders got a hand on him at the line, and twice, he just leaned right out of it before turning the corner and hitting the afterburners.

This caused me so much pain. I never hated the Sooners even when we were in the 6 game losing streak. They were just a lot of great game. My greatest memory was in 1978. On the kick off to open the second half John Ruud nailed Kelly Phelps and the ball came flying out. Clearly a fumble but the refs gave it back to OU. But that set the tone for the second half.
You may have many legendary OU coaches but there will never be another Barry Switzer. I loved that guy.
I will continue to root for you guys to kick Texaas' butts! And lets continue this rivalry in the Rose Bowl.

Good times

I was at Owen Field (where we killed OSU and the aggot fans sat in stunned silence) when the stadium announcer was giving out scores in other Big 8 games. I didn't think the stadium could have gotten louder but the screams of joy were deafening.

Oh, honey, no wonder you cherish that memory...it was so very, very rare.

And to all our "other" (good) Husker fans...I sure hope we can see some OU-NU action in the future. It was the Game of the Century that made me a Sooner fan for life, and that rivalry is just very special.
