Is there uhhhhhh a city of uhhhhhh comparable uhhhhhhh size that has uhhhhhh worse sports radio than uhhhhhhh OKC?

I tried to listen to The Sports Animal (yeah, yeah... I know - I'm an idiot and I should know better) on the way home from work and I thought I was going to stroke out from yelling at Eschbach. He knows next to nothing outside of 70s and 80s college football; his voice is the worst ever; every third word is UHHHHHHHH or UMMMMMMMMM - for ****'s sake - the dude was reading a press release from Beebe and it took him five minutes and 27 UHHHHHHHHHHHS to get through a paragraph. HOW IN THE HOLY ****ING HELL DOES HE HAVE A JOB IN RADIO?!?!?! And, when he does manage to get a few actual words out, they don't make any damn sense. Dude is the king of non-sequiturs. You can be having a conversation about whether some NBA coach should be fired and Al will yell out "SHOULD PAT JONES HAVE BEEN FIRED?!?!" WTF dude?

The only saving grace from the few minutes I listened was that at least Traber wasn't on.

OH! Who the **** do they think they're fooling by naming their show

Hehe. I hate the sports hamster also. Al used to make me nestalgic and bring up good memories with DAD, but that wore off real quick.
I just listen to national radio which is only slightly better.

Middle of the Day Show is the most tolerable.

I wonder if the same low class caller from the KTOK days of Eschbach's show still fill the airwaves on the Sports Animal? Back in the day when I lived in Oklahoma, I would listen to a caller who had no class, OU fan or not, and then just when I thought no fan could be as low class as the last caller, the next caller was even worse. Then there were a group of gomers who did not know there was five second delay, and their radio was turned way up - Hello, am I on the air? Sir, turn your radio down! Hello? Hello? Turn your radio down! Hello?

Of course the UK basketball fans here in Kentucky are as bad or worse. The radio shows here are filled with pretty much the same types of callers, only even more passionate and emotional about their team.

I used to bitch about sports radio in OKC then I went through Dallas. The Sports Animal is bad. I kinda like KREF better except for James Hale.

The other day my wife asked me to make a run to the store during the second period of game 6 of the Stanley Cup. Not wanting to be a complete *** that day, I said sure...it wasn't a very long list. Anyway, driving to the Target, I scanned the entire radio spectrum for a radio station broadcasting the game.

Nada.

Oklahoma sports radio. You are dead to me.

I didn't even know the Stanley Cup had started till after I found out Chicago won. That's mostly because it's not even on TV anymore. I remember watching Hockey all the time when they were on Fox, ESPN/ABC all the time. Since the lockout they've had now they have been mostly on Vs.

I used to listen just to hear James "The" Marvel call in, dude sounded like he had done some acid....Al even commented if he had done some that day and he replied "not today" damn, but yeah his shtick gets old.
Last night on the way back from Tahlequah, he was taking callers questions and damn near everyone of them asked if OU was going to petition for the NC to be awarded to them if the BCS takes SC's crystal ball away. JESUS JOSEPH AND TIMMAH!

He doesn't have the brightest of callers anymore.

Don't know about the size comparison but Charlotte is pretty awful.

When I was up there in '05, I remember thinking OKC's sports radio was miles above the absolute sports crap radio here in New Orleans.

Today: Al is (as he has been off and on for several weeks... Why do I keep listening to this ****? Am I a masochist?) pimping the concerts at that raggedy-*** casino in Concho.

"Coming on (whatever ****ing date) will be 'Morris Day and Time'."

IT'S "MORRIS DAY AND THE MOTHER****ING TIME" YOU ****ING MORON!!

Good ****ing grief I hate that idiot.

Al's my hero...

Al has become a caricature of himself; a parody of a parody.

Yeah the Sports Animal was pretty lousy when I was still up there at school. Now that I'm back in Dallas though I'm spoiled with the greatness that is KTCK - "The Ticket"

It's just a great blend of sports talk and guy talk. Of course most of the sports talk centers around the Dallas Sports Teams, but they do a good job of touching on national and regional sports issues and events.

If you want 100% straight sports talk, then this station probably isn't for you, with the exception of Norm's show. If you ever have the chance, punch up their website and listen to the streaming audio. The Musers in the Morning are really good, BAD Radio is probably my favorite, and the Hardline is a great way to unwind on the drive home.

It is far and away superior to any Sports Talk Radio Show I've ever heard, and it's pretty much all I listen to on the radio anymore.

I thought the Dominance Hour was other people not listening to them, hence the name.

Is it still 50 min of commercials with 10 min of show every hour?
