Word is that if conferences expand then we will have a playoff.

This cant happen without some sort of playoff eventually, you think the small schools are screaming anti-trust violations now

Expand scholarships to 176 per team, then restrict players to 720 total minutes of playing time per season....BUT the season runs year round. FOOTBALL EVERY DAM WEEKEND.
With the restrictions, you'd have to feed your second through fourth string in liberally to keep your stars eligible. It would be a different game, but, I say again: FOOTBALL EVERY DAM WEEKEND.

Ohh hell, might as well scrap the bowls and add a euro-soccer style Champions League while we're at it. Marquee matchups mid-week?!? OU Football twice a week?!? Yes please!

How about Washington. Can we make fun of the fact we stole their basketball team?

Hell yes- get Clay to fork over for Thunder caps on every seat the next time UDub comes to town, just like the car flags at Homeland.

Baylor might be bowl eligible with that line-up. Note I said 'might!'

My understanding is that the Pac-10 and Big-10 were the biggest anti-playoff conferences. The belief is that expansion is a big power play to avoid going to a playoff...or to determine the playoff format by having the most voting power. It's also a huge money gra, of course.

Some of the radio personalities up here in KC have speculated that this is also part of an effort to create 4 super conferences that will vote to override the NCAA and kick them out as a regulatory agency.

the only reason the pac10 and the big10/11 dont want a play off is because they dont want to see the rose bowl as a bottom bitch to any institution

Ah, you'll have to forgive me then. I don't watch or listen to ESPN unless I'm desperate.
