I wish rivals and scout would update their commitment lists to show the same. It creates paranoia here until they look the same

He's my nephew. He has very good footwork for a guy his size.

Oh, I was doubting the great footwork part. :D LOL j/k. I'm just giving people a hard time... :) I'm glad we got this kid though. Great pick-up!

Well considering he has played basketball at the AAU level for several years I would think that would only improve his footwork compared to another 300 pounder at his age.

Definitely should be the case.

I'm not sure associating with our basketball program right now would be good for the young man. :O

I put him in the same category as BV and KW, sure you can point to some success, but all in all I'm not a believer in the guy.

Well, for Schmitty's whole career (OU, Notre Dame, & Florida) he's been a part of 5 National Titles and has worked with 5 Heisman trophy winners... FWIW.

How's he doing in those areas lately?

...and don't say Sam's Heisman, a strength coach has about as much to do with a QB's success as the band director does.

not sure how much he worked with him after the injury, but the reason Sam shot up the draft boards in Feb was because he checked in at 236... that was the clincher.

Here's an interview with him on okcblitz.

Heres a pic of him as a sophomore at the Red-White game.

I'm in the middle and 6'1 and I was around 200 back then. His little brother was in the 6'4 and in the 6th grade (guy on the right). His brother could be a prospect in a few years.

Well I have heard he has gotten a rep in the pros for putting out players who know how to work.

I've never questioned Scmitty's ability to put weight on players. I've often questioned how wisely that is done, because it seems we've often bulked up players to the detriment of speed and quickness.

Schmitty is still considered one of the top 2 or 3 strength coaches in college sports, if you dont believe me ask his peers
