There's links around if you type in his name. Anyways, he's a 6'3 220 lbs QB from Oklahoma. He's a top baseball player and is expected to be drafted next year in the MLB, but he could stick around as a backup QB if Kendal Thompson moves elsewhere.

I thought if you signed to play in college there was a rule kinda like football. At least someone told me that at the baseball game last Friday.

He could always play baseball until he's 40 and come win a Heisman like Chris Weinke. :D

This kind of caught me off guard when I saw this story on the news a few minutes ago. I think it was last Summer when Archie transfered into B.A. (from Muskogee) and I didn't realize he was a D1 Caliber QB and I didn't really keep up with B.A.'s baseball lately. Anyway, if things pan out maybe we landed a great athlete. I'll have to go to some B.A. football games this year and see how he does.

Here's a video I found that shows highlights from a game last fall...Archie started out on a bad note, but he ended up having a good game...they interview him after the game as well in this video:

BA's Archie Bradley: OU football or MLB Draft?
6/8/2010 4:09:00 PM

I spoke with Broken Arrow quarterback/pitcher Archie Bradley a few minutes ago, just hours after he verbally committed to play both sports at Oklahoma. I'll have more on that in Wednesday's paper.

The 6-foot-4 right-hander said he was excited and relieved at his decision.

"It's a big load (off)," Bradley said. "I didn't waste much time. It was the right thing. I knew I wanted to do it. Now it's just smooth sailing from here on out."

For a bit, at least.

Bradley's in a great position. If nothing changes, he can head off to Norman next summer and fight to become a starting quarterback with the Sooners.

Or he could become a top pick in next summer's Major League Baseball Draft. Bradley's been rated as highly as the third-best player in the high school class of 2011 (ahead of even Owasso phenom Dylan Bundy) and could be in line for a big bonus as a first-round pick.

Bradley is extremely skilled in both sports. I spoke with Union coach Kirk Fridrich before last year's semifinal game, and I remember him gushing about how Bradley can "throw the ball 65 yards off one foot."

His low-90s fastball is also enough to get baseball scouts drooling.

Tigers football coach Steve Spavital said he's not sure which sport is Bradley's best.

"When he's in football, I think he's the best at it," Spavital said. "When he's in baseball, I think he's the best at it."

Bradley said it was important for him to play both sports in college, and OU was the best fit for him to do both. He said he's not thinking about the 2011 MLB Draft yet and what might happen if he's made a top pick.

“I try not to think about it much because you never know what can happen,” Bradley said. “If that opportunity arises, I’ll deal with it as it comes. Right now I’m happy to be a Sooner.”

We'll see if Bradley feels the same way this time next year.

Kendal will be a safety. Julian Wilson will be a corner.

Here's another blurb I was able to dig up on the tulsa world site. It's a Q&A they did:

Broken Arrow quarterback Archie Bradley is an elite baseball prospect, a 6-foot-4 right-hander with a 90-mph fastball.

But he also loves football and says he wants to play both sports in college. It could be a moot point because Bradley might go high in next summer's baseball draft and receive a pro signing bonus he can't refuse. Last year for the Tigers, he threw for nearly 1,700 yards and 21 touchdowns, leading them into the Class 6A semifinals.

How can you improve as a quarterback?

There's tons of things I can do. Everyone thinks you make plays on Friday night, but the way you get better is during practice and throughout the week. I'm starting to learn that. You've gotta put that to work in the film room, in the weight room, in extra work with your receivers. And the biggest thing is being that leader everyone looks to and knows is going to get the job done.

Have you had more recruiting interest in football or baseball?

It's more in baseball, but football's starting to pick up because schools are starting to realize I'm serious about playing Division I football. I'm putting it out there that I'm looking for a chance.

How many baseball offers have you received?

I've talked to Arizona, Arkansas and places like that. I probably have 10 or 12 baseball offers. A big factor in where I'm going is whether I can play football or not. I'm looking to play both in college.

Megan Fox or Lady Gaga?

Megan Fox.

Running or lifting weights?

Lifting, for sure.

Yankees or Red Sox?

Yankees.

Fastball or curve?

Fastball. Go with the high heat.

Pizza or hamburger?

Pizza.

Night on the town or a quiet evening at home?

If I'm with my teammates and we're just hanging out, having fun, I like being with my teammates. But there's nothing wrong with a nice, peaceful evening with your family.
