All-everything out of Euless Trinity (TX) commits today! He's undersized, will probably play receiver, but the dude is a game changer. Great pickup IMO.

Sounds like he impressed big at Nike camp and has the IT Factor... Catches everyball thrown at him against top level competition. Sounds like a solid project type player - get him up to 185 and he maybe a great get.

He's the Texas version of David Glidden. Small, fast as lightning.

We currently have one of those lightning in a bottle "undersized" receivers going for every receiving record in the books at OU. I welcome any guy our staff thinks has "it."

Where did David go? I played against him, he was great and one hell of sportsman, always said nice things after they clobbered us.

he is the reason Trinity won the championship game last year. He is a game breaker.

Then why in the Good Lord's name is he the #93 rated WR? No matter, we'll call him the secret weapon. BTW, KSTATE had a guy, Banks, that was smaller than him who was a game breaker. If no one can catch you, then weight shouldn't matter.

Martinez has him playing Corner back... Looks like they want him on defense

Guys often take the biggest hits in the stars department when it comes to measurables. A 6'5, 215 lb WR with those numbers would probably be a 5 star guy. Like Switzer said on the radio a few years back... if you don't pay attention to measurables, you end up with an undersized team that gets obliterated physically all the time. Doesn't mean there's not room for a Noel Devine or a Ryan Broyles to light it up.

Well, I found that beer has given me the weight I wanted back in high school... just in awkward areas. :D

Joking aside... If the coaches want him, I'm sure its for a reason. Welcome home young man!

Haven't heard of the kid but I wouldn't doubt he's a player. Stoops is hardly in the position to reach on anyone.

Then why in the Good Lord's name is he the #93 rated WR?

Because he's a full-grown midget, and he signed with OU, not Tejas.

Also, here's what a scout had to say on another message board I post on:

In covering high school football over the last 20 years, I have seen few athletes like him. He's a very rare breed. I'm not sure how it will translate in college but I don't know that I've seen a more versatile player than him. I've never seen a player with a better feel for the game and timing on jumps. He wins every jump ball thrown his way...even in 7-on-7.

Quick sidetrip here - Top 5 most versatile athletes that I've ever witnessed

1) Jessie Armstead 87-88 Carter Cowboys
2) Brandon Carter Trinity 2009-10
2) Will Cole Cedar Hill 2006
3) Michael Adams Arlington Sam Houston (early 90's)
4) Sterling Kazee Irving MacArthur (Late 90's)

This is a whole nother thread by itself. Granted, they're all metroplex kids but that's where I live. I never actually witnessed VY in high school but if I did I would imagine he might be number 1 on here.

When you can be the best player at any skill position on a team is good as Trinity, you're special. Lineweaver mentioned before the season that they would play him some at DB, however I don't think that has happened yet.

My guess is we'll see that in the playoffs. Here's the piece I did on him today, (note: his favorite athlete is Randy Moss). He may not be as fast as Moss but i would imagine his ball skills are probably very comparable at the same age.

not sure if he ends up on the offensive or defensive side of the ball (HOPING for offensive)...but don't put much faith in the 3 star he's given on rivals. aaron colvin was a 3 star prospect, and he's doing pretty well for himself don't you think?
