While I might quibble with the order of this top 100 there are only 2 players I think DO NOT belong; Dupree and LooneY.Both were only at OU a year and a half before Dupree quit the team and Looney was booted from the team.IIMHO both had a greater NEGATIVE impact on OU then positive and therefore should NOT be anywhere on this list.

Given the passage of time I would also say that there have ben several players in the last few years who should be included on this list, among them - Gerald McCoy,Sam Bradford,Jermaine Gresham,Adrian Peterson.Leaving Dupree and Looney off would open 2spots and I think Billy Brooks and Tinker Owens while both fine players aren't quite Top 100 material. That would allow me to bring in all my new additions.

All the players mentioned are great players and I don't think any less of the players I leave off my top 100 (except Dupree,Looney) But there can only be 100 players in the top 100.On the other hand if you expand the list to 150 or 200 there would still be great players left out.

Any how I have now modified the list as I best see it,all CAPS indicate players who have been moved or added.BTE Albq Paul BUDDY Burris is on the original list at #29.

For those of you who would keep Looney and Dupree?I'm sorry,I just can't see them as GREAT SOONERS over team first players, many of whom had much better stats and careers.

That's a crazy list. I would do better to break it down by position. You have to include Dupree and Looney though. They were incredible.

It seems like we always have a great running back, DT and linebacker.

I would have Bosworth at #2. And Steve Davis and Jimmy Harris should be much higher.

Where should we put Sam Bradford?

I also think Lehman at 32 is way too high

Parker's wayyy too low for my taste. He was the first back in OU history to have three 1,000 yard seasons (joined later by AD), & he has the 10th highest average per carry overall. This, all despite his playing time at OU being marred by A) never playing on a winning team, & B)other teams having a MAJOR bullseye on his back due to him being OU's only consistent threat at that time. I have often wondered what kind of numbers he'd have put up with all that wide open space that Leach's offense employed in '99.

This list is really tricky. I wouldn't have put him that low either. He was a shining star in a dark era. James Allen was pretty good too though.

Not sure why Roy Williams is that much higher than Tommie Harris. One of them should be moved. Bosworth and White too low. And Parker, as others noted, is too low (ahead of Gaddis and Dupree for sure).

That list is too tough to deal with. Like I said, maybe if they sort it out by position I could make sense of it. How do you compare a 160lb lineman that went both ways with a 340lb tackle? Hell if I know.

Hell if I know.I agree it is a tough list to make BUT the book is great to have.It has pictures of each player and bios. Must have for Sooner Fans-100 GREATEST SOONERS,some of the Sooner memorabilia shops still have copies. With so many great players in Sooner history as I said before even if you expanded it to 150 or even 200 some players get left off.As for the order they belong in? Personal preference, historical impact, statistical measure ,all figure in somewhere.

Greg Pruitt has to be higher !!! Remember 9.36 yards per carry.

It seems like we always have a great running back, DT and linebacker.

They had a segment on Marcus Dupree on the local news station here yesterday. He was hosting a football clinic in Philadelphia, MS. They had all these little kids on there, none of them old enough to remember Dupree from his playing days, talking about what a great influence he is and how he can teach them so much. Yes, Dupree is still thought of as a local legend around here.

Funny thing is, Dupree was saying that he has started these football camps because ESPN has a special coming out about his life later this year, and he wants to take full advantage of the free publicity. I'm thinking, the publicity he gets from that special probably isn't going to paint him in the best light.

That suggestion is too absurd to be taken seriously. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that you were off by one and meant to swap #87 and #88.

Peterson has to be top 5. He racked up crazy amounts of yards while being hurt almost every season.

Not only that, but he's done it on the pro stage too. If Peterson can continue to stay healthy he looks to be the best pro player to ever come out of OU. Heck, he was the pro-bowl mvp in his first season if memory serves me correctly.

18 SAM BRADFORD QB ----> Set records, Heisman, took OU to a MNC
17 Jason White QB ----> Set records, Heisman, took OU to 2 MNCs
16 Josh Heupel QB ----> Set records, Heisman Runner-Up, won OU #7 MNC
15 Jim Weatherall OT ----> Who? OT? WTF?

This list is invalid.

Wondering why neither of the Lashars made the list. Uwe was a great PK, but I think both Tim & R.D. were as good or better statistically. So if you put Uwe on the list, you need to give a nod to the Lashar bros.

Wow, what a list to try and make. At most schools it would be much easier.
I can't see any players on it that aren't deserving, but many that aren't on it that may be.
If you see a player that you aren't farmiliar with do a little research and you'll see their merits.
We are all victims of our era of recollection. I.E. Kenny King was the most explosive fullback I've ever seen!

With all due respect, I pretty much disagree with the whole thing inso far as the rankings are concerned. No way would I rank Heuple ahead of White and both ahead of Sam.

Where is David Overstreet? Elvis Peacock? If you watched either Liggins or Hinton, you'd rank them much higher.

Tommy McDonald could have played for the 1975 team.

Uwe wasn't even Switzers best kicker.

Derrick Sherperd and Charles Thompson should be considered as well. So should Steve Sewell and Lydell Carr.
