Wish them the best. I'll always remember "the kiss."

Wonder if they waited for the SNL, Daily Show, Colbert Report seasons to finish up before they went public with this? I don't really think that would be the case, but it is a little convenient. Would love to see all their takes on this.

And to think ol' Al had the entire globe warming up to help.

I wouldn't want to be with the wanker, either.

Al thinks the Supreme Court took away his presidency.

Wait 'til he sees what divorce court will take away!

It took them 40 years to realize they didn't want to be together?

I'll never forget the exchange between the late Frank Zappa and Tipper regarding toys when he was testifying in Washington about parental advisory labels on album covers.

She said something about how she's like to see what kind of toys his kids had grown up with and he said he would like to see what kind of toys she had in her house.

That was a classic exchange, immortalized in the song "Porn Wars" on FZ's album "Frank Zappa Meets The Mothers Of Prevention". It goes as follows:

Tipper: "I'd be interested to see what toys your kids ever had"

Frank: "Why would you be interested?"

Tipper: "Just as a point of interest in this, uh...."

Frank: "Well come on over to the house, I'll show 'em to ya!"

Hopefully the separation will allow them to either separate without to much interference and work things out or divorce without making it ugly.

Tough thing to do as huge a political and ecological a target they are.

Whether you like them or not...I hope they can work through whatever differences they have and be a role model for Marriage. I just hate seeing folks who seemed to really love each other...break up late in life.

Kind of sad.

According to an e-mail circulated among the couple's friends and obtained by The Associated Press on Tuesday, the Gores said it was "a mutual and mutually supportive decision that we have made together following a process of long and careful consideration."

Translation: We hate each other's guts.

eh...no real news here. Only John Edwards/Newt Gingrich style divorces that are served when the poor wife is sick are truly tabloid-worthy. Hell, Newt served his ex-wife just before she went into surgery. Family values my ***.

Is that right. I thought he served her well after the surgery.

Nope.

His first marriage, to his former high school geometry teacher, Jackie Battley, ended in divorce in 1981. Although Gingrich has said he doesn't remember it, Battley has said Gingrich discussed divorce terms with her while she was recuperating in the hospital from cancer surgery.
