took about 10 minutes, didnt really fight much. caught on 8lb test, size 4 hook, small perch hooked through the lips, about 6 inch off bottom at dahlgren lake in lexington wildlife management land. the drag on my reel sucks so i was stripping out line by hand for a little while. weighed in on certified scales at 108th and alameda at 10lbs 14 oz but she had been out of the water and laying in the bed of a truck for an hour at that point so she had lost some water weight

i took detailed measurements before i filleted it last night. will have a replica made as soon as i can afford it.

ive heard that big bass dont taste very good, but i was pleasantly surprised at the flavor.

i cut some STEAKS out of her, damn near 3 inches thick one was. had to cut them into pieces to fit in the pan

yea that whole area is just fishy as hell. a warden was telling me they'll periodically shock that lake, pull a bunch of fish out and truck them to other oklahoma waters to stock. they essentially use it as a hatchery
