So is this one. (http://www.soonersports.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/okla-m-footbl-mtt.html)

Google a name, find a pic of em in the right numbered jersey (remember that a lot of Sooners go on to play in the Neffel, where they might have a different number, especially if they're a receiver).

You can also cheat and type "Oklahoma" and the number into google for an image search and you'll get the road signs:

(yes, sorry, still day 99)

The biggest thing is to be creative so that perhaps this year's list will look slightly different than last year's. (http://www.soonerfans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=131547&highlight=countdown)

Ralph Eugene Neely was born on Spetmber 12, 1943 in Little Rock Arkansas. He played football at Oklahoma University & was named an All American his senior year, fall of 1964. Neely was drafted in the 2nd round by the Baltimore Colts (28th overall pick) of the National Football League & by the Houston Oilers (15th Overall pick) of the rival American Football League. The Colts later traded his rights to the Dallas Cowboys, but Neely initially accepted the offer from the Houston Oilers. When Neely learned that the Colts had traded his rights to the Cowboys, he returned his check to the Oilers & signed with the Cowboys. For many years the subsequent rivalry games between Houston & Dallas were referred to as the Governors Cup/Neely Bowl! The actual original Governors Cup Trophy is still missing to this day. Ralph Neely played with Dallas from 1965 to 1977. Although remembered for his position at Offensive Left Tackle, he saw significant time at the Right Guard position in 1970 & was known for being able to play both sides of the offense. During his 13 years with the Dallas Cowboys, #73 Ralph Neely won many Awards & Championships & was considered one of the best Offensive Linemen of his time!

65-13 = 52, the largest margin of victory in RRS history!
63-14 = 49, the second-largest margin of victory in RRS history!
Take away five, for the four championships Texas can claim, and the one last year they'd like to claim because their QB got injured and all...

52+49-5 = 96 :D

96 days to go!

As my fiance and I began planning our wedding almost a year ago, she was dead set on having a saturday September Wedding. I told her that was fine, as long as our colors were crimson and cream, I could wear my mark clayton ou jersey, and we had a t.v. directly behind her head so I didnt miss anything.

We are getting married August 7th...Its all about compromise!!

Well, then, time's awastin'. I'm thinking we need to get squared away on:

1. Tailgate. When, where, how much whisky to bring? Those are the main points.
2. Which opposing coaches to abuse first. I know we tend to concentrate on the next one up, but we might want to consider taking extra time with some of them, such as Sonic the Hedgehog.
3. Can we run a special section appreciating the opposing cheerleaders? I mean, they work so hard and still have be associated with their skanky teams. It just doesn't seem fair.
4. Shall we run an informal game day restaurant and bar survey? If it gets big enough, perhaps we can get extra sponsors.
5. Haiku string. It must happen again this year. For each game.

What am I missing?

Your fellow Sooner & BROTHER - IN - LAW,
SOONERNTX

Dear Soonerntxs,

posting a pic is fun and easy!

1- Go to Google. If you've never used Google before, click here. (http://www.google.com/)

2- Click on Images for a Google Image Search, commonly abbreviated GIS. Never did this before? Click here. (http://www.google.com/imghp?hl=en&tab=wi)

3- To find the pic you are looking for, enter it in the search options... like say, "Jammal Brown Sooners." No idea what I'm talking about? Click here. (http://www.google.com/images?hl=en&source=imghp&q=jammal+brown+sooners&gbv=2&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai=)

4- See a pic you like, click on it! Then, click "see full image size" to get the direct link. You should be seeing a page like this. (http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://graphics.fansonly.com/schools/okla/graphics/m-footbl/archive/brown-outland-2004.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.soonersports.com/sports/m-footbl/archive/m-footbl-outland-winners.html&usg=__gb-ri5Vc5I0Gmf9kgg0VoxtKXJU=&h=225&w=169&sz=10&hl=en&start=11&sig2=ojURA4WZZpMDADm1ajPOYw&itbs=1&tbnid=h_C1_vBfQFWDBM:&tbnh=108&tbnw=81&prev=/images%3Fq%3Djammal%2Bbrown%2Bsooners%26hl%3Den%26 gbv%3D2%26tbs%3Disch:1&ei=JFQ3TPvOLcOQjAff5sGQDw)

5- After you click "see full image size," you should see the picture alone in your browser window, like this. (http://graphics.fansonly.com/schools/okla/graphics/m-footbl/archive/brown-outland-2004.jpg) Copy the URL (highlight and hit ctrl+C on your keyboard)

6- Now, get yer arse back to SF.com. type

7- Paste the URL you copied earlier after [img]

8- Now, type after the URL you pasted.

It should read something like this:

http://graphics.fansonly.com/schools/okla/graphics/m-footbl/archive/brown-outland-2004.jpg

Except, of course, without the spaces between the img's surrounding the link.

Welcome to SF.com!

http://graphics.fansonly.com/schools/okla/graphics/m-footbl/archive/all-americans/tom-brahaney-1971-72.jpg

Let's hear it for Center Tom Brahaney, named a CONSENSUS All American on the 1971 AND 1972 teams. The Huskers Outland Trophy winner Rich Glover (y'all remember that Game of the Century dealio, right?) called Brahaney the best center he had EVER played against. He was also a finalist for the Lombardi Award, and was drafted by the Denver Broncos.

p.s. as of this moment, it's still 54 days someodd hours til kickoff. I'll see if I can find a good 53 for the rest of the day. Everybody happy now!!????!?! ;)

Again, if it is 53 days & 19+ hours, it seems to me that it is a lot closer to 54 days than 53. After all, there are only 24 hours in a day.

I'm going with 53--back to the days when men were men and faceguards were for wussies...

http://graphics.fansonly.com/schools/okla/graphics/m-footbl/archive/all-americans/jerry-tubbs-1956.jpg

1956 Consensus All American Jerry Tubbs played Center AND linebacker on that National Championship team, when the Sooners thumped Maryland in the Orange Bowl for all the marbles. In 1955, Tubbs caught 3 interceptions against the hated wearers of the burnt orange, and many felt he should have been named an All American that year as well.

He was the very first Sooner to win the Walter Camp Award, was named Lineman of the Year, was drafted by Da Bears in '57, and was the 12th Sooner inducted into the National Football Foundation Hall of Fame.

I just have a weird sense of humor, I guess, because I find Texas fans whining about a scoreboard funny, when they know as a fact that they would have had no reason to whine if (a) they didn't lose to Tech, and (b) we didn't crush Tech to a bloody pulp or (c) we didn't beat the Pokes.

And yes, it did all work out in the end.

Poor Rufus. That arrest before the draft might have ruined his future NFL prospects. He was better than a late-round pick, making him more expendable at cut times. But yeah, I know that lots of late round picks make it in the league and that shouldn't have stopped him.

Pruitt from 1971. I apologize for the hideous choice of music.

qwQ_JDElmcw

Pruitt's still got the greatest juke I've ever seen by a Sooner. It was in the '71 Texas game. He juked some Longhorn DB so bad the guy actually never moved his legs. By the time he realized what Pruitt had done it was "Hello, Goodbye" to the NE corner of the Cotton Bowl.

Although the destruction of the K-State DB's ankles at 1:43 ain't too bad either.

I was wearing an OU cap when I was grocery shopping once on base and some old guy came up to me right there next to the eggplants and said, "Are you an OU fan?!?!?" I said I was, couldn't wait for football season, and he spent the next 10 minutes talking effusively about watching Greg Pruitt play. He was a Michigan or Penn State or one of those boring blue team fans he said, but for whatever reason, Pruitt caught his eye, and while he remained loyal to his team, he just loved to watch #30 tear it up, he said it was a sight to behold and 30 years later, he still got excited talking about it, and that he still tried to keep up with the Sooners (he also mentioned Q and AD) a little, but that for him, Pruitt was one of those players he'll never forget and was thrilled he had been able to watch him play.

That's why I love wearing my OU stuff as I live like a gypsy in every corner of this country--I've had some great conversations and heard some great stories along the way. Boomer!!

By Cotton Bowl rules this is clearly a facemask personal foul. OU players are not allowed to have a hand within 6" of Colt McCoy's helmet.

when we have our first punt, IF we punt.....tell one of our gunners to lay out the return guy....even if its a penalty.....just to set the tone. I dont believe in cheap shots but its texas.

I appreciate the nice words, and yes sir. My entire family is basically from Memphis, when the Leakes came over from England they settled in Germantown, TN and then eventually Memphis. He went to Christan Brothers High School as well as my dad before my dad moved out here to go to OU where he met my mother (from OKC)

But I myself am from the Great State Of Oklahoma.
