I was watching College Football Live and was thinking about these two teams playing, can anyone imagine any scenario where this game would be anything other than a 10-7 or 7-6 type game? Man there would be some hard hitting...

Let's just say there would be no where to run. OU had the better defense! I can bet you it would have taken more than 6 passes to beat OU, unlike coach Muschump, which is a astonishing stat in a Nat'l title game.

Did Bama' give the blueprint to beat texas?

now all we need is a Heisman RB to hand off to

dirty little secret about Muschamp- Texas has given up over 200 yards rushing in their last 2 bowl games.

THIS. A lot of people forget it because UT ended up winning, but Beanie Wells was flat gashing them in Tempe last year until he got that concussion.

The offense that went through Red October like s*** through a goose would have won, definitely. But I don't know if the beat-up offense with a noodle-armed QB that played Free Shoes U in the OB would have beaten last year's Bama team. It was all OU could do to score one TD against Free Shoes, and their 2000 D was nothing close to 2009's Bama D. Not saying 2000 OU wouldn't have won, just that with the depleted state of the offense come BCS time, it would have been a lot more dicey.

Until you can score on OU 2000, you can't beat 'em. FSU was the top offense in the country. No way in hell is Bama's QB what Weinke was.

Alabama 2009 ran a lot more between the tackles than any team the 2000 D saw...I would say edge to Alabama but not much

This. I don't see Bama scoring at all. I think we probably score off an INT and win 10-0.

two different kinds of offense..the strength of the FSU offense played to the strength of the OU defense....Once again, you cant really compare the alabama offense to anything the OU defense saw, because the best running attacks that defense saw were outside running teams which the OU defense specialized in stopping

The 2000 team with a healthy Heupel would've kicked the Shi'ite out of 2009 Bama.

Our Mike Stoops defenses + Time to Prepare = Pwnage.

which makes 2003 that much more frustrating.

Yup. Which is why I think it's criminal to take a coach out of his program -- for even a minute -- before his season is done.

We would've won the NC in 2003 if Mike hadn't been gone all week leading up to the game, then scrambled to put a different defense in when he arrived and saw what we were using prior to the game.

I'm enormously bitter, and I think it's totally bull that the extra couple weeks did anything meaningful for him and that program. But they would've done wonders for ours.
