The Hurt Locker and The Blind Slide both got added to our Netflix Queue after the Oscars (along with Inglorious Basterds, which we've already viewed). I think next up on the post-Oscar viewing Queue is The Blind Slide.

I don't expect to love or hate it, I just wanted to check it out because it has Lou Holtttthhhhh trying to act like a recruiter, along with a few other SEC dudes... pleeeeease let there be an Oregeron cameo of him trying to speak clearly (impossible!).

I don't remember why I put Hurt Locker on the list... maybe just to see whether it was worthy of dethroning Avatar and James Cameron's ego.

The Blind Side is a pretty good flick, worth the watch. I thought The Hurt Locker was great, alot of ppl that watch movies like that get all bent out of shape over certain aspects but it accomplished what it was supposed to, it was a great movie IMO simply because it shows the epic levels of stress and monotony that soldiers go thru

I actually wish they'd make more WW2-era films and go for accuracy.

It seems like every time somebody doesn't like something that somebody's doing, they call them a Nazi. I've seen Ann Coulter photoshopped as a Nazi. I've seen Arizona's law called Nazism. There was even a cute little King of the Hill episode where freeloading roomates were calling dopey Luanne Platter a Nazi.

People are starting to forget what being a Nazi was all about and are just using that term for bad stuff. Ooo, a law we hate - Nazis!

It's disrespectful to Holocaust victims :(

it's not just something you don't like, it's generally something inhuman or without feeling IMO

and i think mocking Nazis is awesome. making them the butt of jokes works for me.

relegate them to the ******* of history

BTW, read the comments under the article. There is one sick f**K talking about pleasuring himself to Passion of the Christ, I dont get some people. Is it really that important to get a rise out of people that you have to say such retarded and disgusting things?

Depends, if you believe whats in the Bible like I do then I didnt think it was excessive, Gibson wanted to show the pure Hell that Christ went thru and I think he did that pretty well :D

Blind Side was good, not great. Bullock's win for that must have been the pity of everyone knowing Jesse was banging anything and everything before she did. Her performance wasn't even close to J Robert's Erin Brockovich, which is what it seemed like she was going for, imo.

It's pretty funny to see all the cameos made by coaches and none of them actually being at that school anymore, but they still had to done their old school's polo shirts.

Ok I'll go down the list.

SCHINDLER'S LIST
It was in black and white so I hate it.

SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE
Yeah I really don't give 1/3 of a flying **** about poor kids and from what I hear the filmmakers felt the same about the actors.

THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST
It's a snuff film and look at the guy who made it. In the end though it wasn't a bad comedy movie.

BLOOD DIAMOND
Africans at war with each other? What's new?

BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN
A movie about gays porking each other. It's gay porn and it should die. Well, one of them did.

THE HURT LOCKER
Meh.

AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH
**** AL GORE AND HIS MANBEARPIG!

BOWLING FOR COLUMBINE
The fat bastard lied during it and we all know guns kick ***. He can take his anti-second amendment stance and shove it up his ***!

A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN
A movie trying to show women athletes equal to men? Keep dreaming feminist.

JUNO
The slut didn't wrap up or could keep her legs close. I don't care about the welfare whore. Just get an abortion.

A BEAUTIFUL MIND
It's not Gladiator? **** it. At least Gladiator had action and some sort of plot.

CRASH
Is it like American History X? No? Then who cares about racism.

:pop:

If you actually wathc bowling for Colombine it's much more of an indictment of American violence than guns. He contrasts us with Canada that is just as gun-toting as we are without all the murders. Not that he's some genius or something, but in the end it's not the guns he's against, but rather the senseless violence that we seem to have in greater numbers than similar gun-toting nations.

i don't think Canada is near as gun toting as we are

I may be remembering something wrong, but I thought Canada had more guns per capita than us.

yermom

Handgun registration has been required since 1934, with possession of handguns limited to collectors, target shooters and those who can demonstrate a need of guns to protect their lives.

There are an estimated 7.4 million firearms in Canada, about 1.2 million of which are restricted firearms (mostly handguns). In the U.S., there are approximately 222 million firearms; 76 million of the firearms in circulation are handguns.

http://usgovinfo.about.com/library/weekly/aa030500c.htm

with Canada's population at a little over 1/10 of ours, i'm thinking per capita is a fair amount less

I thought Crash was incredibly overrated. They should have called it Racist and Loving It. Everyone was so overt about it.

Her performance wasn't even close to J Robert's Erin Brockovich, which is what it seemed like she was going for, imo.I think Sandy did an OUTSTANDING job of portraying her character.I watched a story on the real life people inBlidside and based on the footage I saw Ms.Bullock was UNANNILY accurate and percise in her portrayal of the woman. When I saw the movie,I thought she was a little over-the-top BUT then I saw and heard the real woman. My first thought then was DOPPLEGANGER.

There are some movies that I will never own and rarely watch but I feel MUST be seen,Schindler's List and Passion of the Christ are both on that list.I am of Jewish heritage and after I saw SL the first time I was so emotionally battered that I did not see the movie again for about 5 years.Judging fromcomments he made I think the movie had a profound impact on Speilberg himself.
