There is no shot that OU can win a natl title, in this scenario who is the one coach above any other that you would hope could win it.

My pick is Frank Beamer. Seems like an actual great guy, went thru a lot in his life, consistently has really really good teams but not good enough ones. Id love for him to win a Natl title if I knew OU wasnt going to win it.

Mike Stoops... we can dream, can't we?

Yea he was a close #2 for me but since Beamer is older and closer to the end of his career I went with him. Speaking of which, if Mikey can solidify some of the losses on D he could have a really good team again this yr. He will either prove how good he is this year with a 8, 9, or 10 win season or they might move on if he can only win 6 or 7

Mike Leach - wherever it is he ends up coaching. First, I like the guy. Second, it would be sweet karmic come-uppance for Tech.

Since we a playing a fantasy game, I'd take a young Barry Switzer.

Peterson from Boise, classy and a great coach, not to mention it might make people forget about that one game I can hardly remember.

Old people vote, Beamer and JoePa are good but my vote would go to Spurrier. Only because he would be the dark horse in that other conference that I hate and it would mean he would've beat Saban and Urban to get it.

Mike is a given.

Bobby Johnson, head football coach at . . . Vanderbilt.

If that wouldn't set the college football world on its' ear, nothing else will.

I have 3, in no particular order:

1. Bill Stewart. Granted, I didn't like it when he & WVU were kicking our tails all over the place, but he seems like he'd be fun to play for.

2. Charlie Strong. He's won 2 as an assistant, & IMO he was every bit as responsible for both of them (especially 2006), as Meyer, yet he got totally lost in all the Meyer media hype.

3. Pat Hill. GOTTA respect the cajones on this guy. You name the time & place, & he'll have his team there, ready to give you their best shot.

Joe Pa. Beamer has a rep for tolerating thugs. My second choice would be whoever is coaching Hawaii, 'cuz that'd be funny. And who can hate on rainbows, anyhow?

June Jones - SMU... I kinda like the guy but most of all for all the crap that SMU went through after the "death penalty" issued by the NCAA - they got screwed, only team ever to deal with that.

Bronco Mendenhall... seriously a great guy. First guy to ever beat OU and acknowledge the truth in the aftermath (how Sam's injury changed things).

I have to say Joe Pa for the last hurrah. Can't argue with Chris Peterson and obviously he has a decent relationship with our staff for him to go to a few of our practices in the spring.
