The last Big 12 softball tourney ever is going on at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium in OKC this weekend. OU has already advanced to tomorrow's championship game with wins over Tech and A&M today and will face the winner of the Missouri/Texas game taking place right now.

Mizzou has stretched their lead over regular season champs Texas to 7-2 heading into the bottom of the fifth. If this holds, we'll have gone through an entire season without getting to play Texas. I feel cheated.

Texas scores 3 in their half of the fifth to cut Mizzou's lead to 7-5. Tigers up to bat in the top of the sixth; they need some insurance runs.

Mizzou put Texas away, 11-6. They advance to meet us in the championship game tomorrow on FSN at noon. The Texas loss combined with our series being rained out in April means that barring a matchup in the super regional or WCWS, we won't play the Horns at all this season. Weird.

Why is this the last Big12 tourney? Did I miss something here????

For whatever reason, they're doing away with the tournament and just awarding the automatic berth in the NCAAs to the regular season champ.

Today's win gives us the distinction of winning both the first and last Big 12 softball tourney titles, as well as a share of the record for most tourney titles with Texas at 4 each. Now to wait for tonight's selection show on ESPNU to see if this got us a national seed & host status for regionals & super regionals.

I watched the championship game today and that game had the worst officiating of any game in any sport that I have ever seen. There were FOUR blown calls at first base and a double which was CLEARLY foul among the highlights or should I say lowlights?

Yeah, I'm really not gonna miss Big 12 officiating when the conference dies.

Sooners earn the #14 national seed, will open against Syracuse in College Park, MD.

Missouri is a #9 seed with a home berth and we are #14? WTHeck!

Yeah. We got f*cked over yet again. Not only do we NOT host a regional, but if we advance to the Super Regional we'll have to play Washington in Seattle.
