So in a couple of weeks, I will be driving down to Lee County, Texas for my Cousin's graduation. I am planning on staying overnight in Oklahoma twice during the trip. What is a good clean decent place to stay overnight? My Aunt and Uncle usually stay in Perry when they make the trip, but I'm thinking I can make further south on the initial drive down. I might shoot for Perry on the way back. Any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated.

Why not Norman or OKC? Are you shooting for something different?

Either of those would probably be fine, it just depends on how tired of driving I am, so I was seeking multiple options of places where I won't get stabbed or end up with a staph infection.

Priceline downtown OKC and pickup a nice hotel in Bricktown for $80.....

I probably should have mentioned that I will be looping through the hometown of Cornhusker Legend Mike Minter on the way down to facilitate a side trip in Texas, and should probably stay somewhere where it easy to get on the road to Lawton.

Actual geographic center of OK is 8 mi N of OKC. I guess that'd be Edmond.

If you jump on 44 to go to Lawton your only choices are Chickasha, Elgin and Lawton. None are particularly impressive. All are servicable.

After fiddling with maps today, I think I'll probably stop before OKC, unless morning traffic is so bad that I want to make it through at 8-9 at night, and get to the other side before stopping.

On the way back I may come straight up 77 to see something different scenery wise.

well, in that case, to keep from getting shanked, exit the highway at guthrie or edmond.
