Day of the OU Fan. Good times. The boy and I getting to toss the ol pigskin around down on the field was the most awesome stuff of the Day.

Not when I went to school there (1986-1990). We used to sneak down on the field for dates. It was a great time to go to school there (until the King was fired).

That predates the return to grass. This could be a factor.

After it was all over we walked back to the car and my Son said..."That was the best day of my life.". :D

Getting to sit in some of the players lockers and think what it must be like right before a game just...well...there's no other word than awesome that I can think of.

They had the Sun Bowl Trophy sitting on the counter behind the equipment room checkout counter. My Son caught that and I back pedaled back to the window and we got to talk to one the guys about our trip to the Sun Bowl and meeting Sam Bradford's Dad when we went into the Stadium. Just got to do, see and talk about everything Sooner and how cool it's going to be for my Son when he goes to School in Norman. :D

Very true. Back then the field felt like cement if you fell on it.

Actually it was asphalt under the rug.

It was harder than concrete. I don't know how they played on that crap.

The Super Dome in Louisiana was that way I believe.

Dude...he's staring at this poster we got with stars from every sport at OU on it. Sam and Blake are on it. Sam was his favorite player. When we went into the Locker Room he asked where Sam's was. I explained that Sam was gone now and then we went and got pics of each other sitting in Landry's Locker. We got Broyles too.

You could have done that today but you'll have to start registering as a sex offender and I'm pretty sure you would have really creeped out a lot of Families. Oh and you're gonna have some legal problems. May I suggest you wear an aggie shirt if you try to give it a go again. :D

We used to play football on the field the first year that I was there (82-83), just walked right in after practice and no one ever said a word to us until it was dark and time to lock up.

I think they starting locking it down a few years before that. Just more "security" in general in later years.

i've also heard there are lasercensorbeamthingys on the field that can detect movement...but that just might be rumors.
