1) He takes this pieced together roster of avg talent and goes out and goes 13-19 with a sub 500. record in conf

2) We pull off a few upsets, put together a record of 19-13 and gets a 13 seed in the tourney or an NIT invite

Neither. I'd still be incredibly disappointed with the job he did last year and his seeming inability to control his players.

It's going to take several years of NCAA appearances and no trouble with eligibility or compliance for me to be back on his bandwagon.

Hell, I don't know, but it is a little early to make a decision right now. How about I'll wait to watch these guys play their first 5-7 games, then make my decision. Really, I don't even want it to be tied to just a win-loss record. I'd rather throw in some effort, hustle, on and off court stuff.

Right now, I guess I'd be happier with #2.

I'm with Froz, though I think a couple years of NCAAs and hard work will go a long way. I'd like a sweet 16 in two, but I think that's unrealistic. He's decimated this program pretty effectively.

heart, hustle & hardwood.

oh waitI think the real philosophy there was- cheat, lie about it, thenblame others for telling on you.

As long as Capel makes progress I will be happy.Since Capel has no track record of off-coirt issues or academic issues,I expect last year to fade into memory as an anomaly. If the dreck of last year were to rear its ugly head then I would have an issue.

I am already on record as saying that 18-13(or flipping last season's record) ia progress especially if the players are representative of OU.

I'm assuming you mean positive progress, since he HAS made progress to date, it's just been backwards...

Winning solves everything in sports. Big name blue chip recruits and preseason hype and rankings do not.

Win! And please don't cheat to get there.

Win.

And after that last year we saw....he might want to win more than 75% next year.

13-18 and 4-12 in conference ain't gonna leave him as HC for long at OU.

I don't care WHAT the win/loss record is next season, so long as the team acts like a damn team again.

3) Coaching a team on how to play defense.
