You seen any hummingbirds yet? My feeders are devoid of any of the little fellers so far.

Thanks.

Thanks. I put mine out about two weeks ago and none have showed up yet. I reckon it just takes time for them to discover it. New place and all.

I saw Dirty Jobs this weekend where they make bird food. Now...not that rocket propellant you have to feed the humming birds but these little cakes of stuff with ingredients like maggots.

If you haven't caught that episode...you should IMHO.

I got a hummingbird feeder a few years ago for Christmas. I heard if you leave the juice in there too long, it'll ferment and kill your birds. Which leads to my question...

How long is too long?

Once it ferments...are you in danger of being a bootlegger?

I was on the porch Friday morning and one buzzed me. Momma hung up the feeders and we've got a couple of males hitting them pretty hard. They're already duking it out and the females ain't even there yet.

We usually have about 10-15 birds every year. Enough to empty the feeders every couple days, and actually leave droppings under the feeders on the patio. Hummingbirds take tiny ****s.
