It'll be Eastern Conference champion Tulsa taking on West champ Rio Grande Valley. The 66ers and Vipers are two of the few teams in the D-League that are owned by an NBA team (OKC for Tulsa, Houston for RGV) rather than a local ownership group that affiliates with two or three NBA teams, a pattern that will probably become the norm as the NBADL moves forward.

Wait! Even the D-league has playoffs, yet big-time college football does not?

Oh, the horror!

They have the screwiest playoff format ever: The top 3 seeds get to pick who they want to play in the first round, and every series is best of 3 in a 1-2 format where the lower seed gets game 1 in their gym, with 2 and 3 if needed are at the higher seed's place.
