I remember that...I hated the pistons and thomas and he did that against my Lakers...if the Pistons had won that series, I would have hated him even more...

and his 16 points in a minute and change was pretty darn impressive also

Collier, you are reaching a bit if you're taking points from Colin Cowherd.

I'm sure LeBron is dinged up. Well, tough ****. I saw Isiah once go for 25 on a badly sprained ankle. IN ONE QUARTER!

Notice I said I dont agree, just said it was interesting that he would think such a thing during game 5 of the playoffs

Collier11
5/13/2010, 07:56 PM
That line is used up, lots of Great players have no rings, he is only 25. If he doesnt have a ring or 2 by 30 then I will be with you

Mo Williams has played like a bum in this series, what has ever happened to Gibson, he was a stud in the playoffs the yr the Cavs made the finals

Mo Williams has played like a bum in this series, what has ever happened to Gibson, he was a stud in the playoffs the yr the Cavs made the finals

he's played a good game tonight.

but it's the only one of the series where i can say that...

james hasn't played like he did in the 1st quarter.

Collier11
5/13/2010, 09:25 PM
James has had a ton of bad TOs and isnt being aggressive enough, again

Collier11
5/13/2010, 09:26 PM

5/13/2010, 09:47 PM
The only funnier pick than the Cavs winning it is the Mavs winning it.

Interesting, Simmons just tweeted that if Lebron stays in Cleveland he will insist that Ferry and Brown be gone, I thought Lebron was a Brown guy? I wonder what coach they would go after?

5/14/2010, 09:25 AM

yep, 9 turnovers

My Opinion Matters
5/14/2010, 09:27 AM
I'd say 95% Lebron leaves Cleveland now. He's never going to win a championship there.

Interesting, Simmons just tweeted that if Lebron stays in Cleveland he will insist that Ferry and Brown be gone, I thought Lebron was a Brown guy? I wonder what coach they would go after?

shaq will be gone after this year.

i could see him going to like a dallas or spurs maybe? who knows

Mo is a good player.

I've never been big on Jamison.

Mike Brown, suicide watch..... i just don't get how u can fire a coach who has won the league (regular season) 2 years in a row..... (i don't care for Brown)

My Opinion Matters
5/14/2010, 09:29 AM
This Cavs team was constructed to beat the Magic and the Lakers.

Cleveland Front Office: lol oops! We forgot about the Celtics! Sorry guys!

JLEW1818
5/14/2010, 09:30 AM
lol... i still think the cavs would lose to LA and Orlando

idk who would not think that

i think your joking tho .. haha

Shaq is done. Jamison showed his true colors in this series, he's nothing but a soft player that fills up the stat line in the regular season. Mo Williams is a scrapper, but he's not a true point guard and isn't anything but the third or fourth best option on an elite team.

No more excuses for Lebron though. The responsibilty for the failure in this series is laid at his feet.

My Opinion Matters
5/14/2010, 09:34 AM
lol... i still think the cavs would lose to LA and Orlando

i think your joking tho .. haha

I absoultely think this Cavs team could have beaten the Lakers. The Magic...I don't know. It would have been a tremendous series. The only reason the Cavs went out and got Shaq was for this Orlando series they'll never get to play.

JLEW1818
5/14/2010, 01:21 PM
sorry disagree 382175239085723252353235 percent.

the cavs would not have beat the lakers or magic, in a series.

Collier11
5/14/2010, 01:25 PM
they matched up better with Lakers than Magic for sure, with the way they just played though I dont know

JLEW1818
5/14/2010, 01:33 PM
the cavs just are not a great playoff team.....

as Step told me... the cavs don't have a guy who gets better in postseason.

look at Ariza for LA last year.

Rondo and Tony Allen this year, for boston

Collier11
5/14/2010, 01:35 PM
The problem is that the Cavs dont have anyone who can take over when Lebron is struggling. Jamison proved to be a softy, Mo was too inconsistent, Shaq is old, etc...

My Opinion Matters
5/14/2010, 01:36 PM
I think Boston is being undersold in all of this, at the beginning of this thread I mentioned they're kind a mystery team, and have that "sleeping giant" element to them. I really didn't know if they had it in them to flip the switch and upset the Cavs, but now that they have I would definitely watch out for them.

I'll go on record right now, if the Magic win the next series, the Lakers will be champs again. If the Celtics get past the Magic, they'll beat the Lakers.

Collier11
5/14/2010, 01:40 PM
The Celts have a ton of talent, they kind of BSd their way thru the regular season but they are a really good team, make no bones about it

JLEW1818
5/14/2010, 04:24 PM

Eielson
5/14/2010, 06:19 PM
I think Boston is being undersold in all of this

I only think this was an issue with those who were so in love with Lebron that they were crazy enough to think the Cavs would win it all. Jlew and I weren't, and we correctly picked that the Cavs would struggle.

Collier11

Collier11

Either the NBA is shrouded in parity, or none of the teams are elite. I can't figure out which.

Scott D
5/14/2010, 09:41 PM
The Celts have a ton of talent, they kind of BSd their way thru the regular season but they are a really good team, make no bones about it

keep in mind that they got off to a pretty hot start (25-7 I think), before they went through a string of injuries to KG, Pierce and Rondo among others. They're healthy again right now, and that's what makes them dangerous.

Orlando couldn't have asked for two more favorable matchups in the first two rounds of the playoffs.

JLEW1818
5/14/2010, 09:58 PM
The real loser is Carlos Boozer... Him and Lebron could be the best 1-2 punch in the NBA.

JLEW1818
5/15/2010, 09:22 AM
Because the other part feels as if we learned something substantial about LeBron James this spring. I always thought his ceiling looked like this: Jordan's DNA crossed with Magic's DNA crossed with Bo Jackson. Nope. Take the Jordan DNA out. Have to. Jordan was a ruthless mother******. Jordan was a killer. Jordan didn't care if his teammates despised him. Jordan never, ever, not in a million years, would have allowed his team to quit in the final two minutes of Thursday night's game the way LeBron did. His teammates feared him, loathed him, revered him and played accordingly. Bird had that same quality. In the second half of his career, so did Magic. Winning meant so much to those guys that their teammates almost didn't have a choice; they had to follow suit. Or else. - Bill Simmons

Eielson
5/15/2010, 11:23 AM
Jordan's DNA definitely didn't cross with Bo Jackson's. Proof: baseball.

Eielson
5/15/2010, 11:25 AM
not with what the economies are like in the most likely of nations.

I suppose, but don't you think it might be a risk worth taking? I think 50 million would be cheap for what they would get in return. I wouldn't expect them to lose money in the long run.

My Opinion Matters
5/15/2010, 11:40 AM
You think Lebron needs money? Wherever he goes, it won't be about the money

JLEW1818
5/15/2010, 12:18 PM
It won't be Chicago.. idc. Lebrons shadow.

i don't think Lebron goes to Chicago... lol just imagine if he won a ring somehow there in the next couple years.... bulls fans.. "okay MJ won 5 more".... say Lebron wins 2 in a row... "okay MJ won three in a row, twice" lose lose

New York baby. NYC.. He can run around with Aroid and Jeter. He can get another big name free agent with him. They don't have many draft picks.

Where ever he goes or stays, his team will NOT win the Finals next year. So i say its a process.

JLEW1818
5/15/2010, 12:19 PM
Final point: Between Games 5 and 6 of the Cavs-Celtics series, an Austin, Texas, reader named Chris Rider sent me the following e-mail:

"I figured LeBron out, dude. I think you define a player by defining what is most important to them in one word.

"MJ -- Winning. Hands down, all he wanted to do was win. And that's over-used for a lot of athletes, but not him.

"Kobe -- Greatness. Yes he's going to win some, but only because he wants to be considered great and that will be a by-product at times. But you'd also see him shoot his team out of a game; jack 3s when he should press the issue and get to the paint. He didn't mind losing a few games if people came away saying 'Kobe is great; look what happens when he doesn't shoot.'"

"LeBron -- Amaze. I think he just really wants to amaze people. Which is why he spends 10 minutes before the game throwing underhand, left-hand half-court shots. Why he celebrates amazing dunks and blocks, but isn't working just as hard to win. I know the Cavs aren't great without him, but he's got PLENTY on that team to win rings with."

Is that totally fair? Probably not. But just for fun, let's extend Chris' game …

Russell, Magic, Bird, Duncan, Walton, West and Havlicek: Winning.

Wilt: Numbers.

Oscar and Barry: Perfection.

Shaq: Fame.

Kareem and Elgin: Pride.

Moses: Rebounds.

Malone and Garnett: Work.

Barkley: Fun.

Cousy, Stockton, Isiah, Pippen and Nash: Team.

For Doc and LeBron, you probably need more than one word. By the rules of the game, we can use only one. So we're forced to pick this one: Amaze. You are who you are.

Eielson
5/15/2010, 05:57 PM
You think Lebron needs money?

Needs? No. Wants? Yes.

I knew he said he would consider Europe for the right price, so I googled it.

He'd strongly consider it for around 50 million.

I dunno. The Nets could add depth inside to help out Lopez, stick with Devin Harris at the point (which becomes less important with Bron Bron around). I don't think it was gonna happen with or without Wall, that team just isn't built to win any time soon.

I predict Cleveland and Toronto do a sign and trade with Bosh and a large part of Cleveland's overrated interior and that LBJ stays.

5/23/2010, 07:41 AM
Never cared for the magic, just thought they were the best team in the east. You and lebron jock lovers are the real losers. And I picked Boston in 6 over cavs. I win! :)

as long as lebron does not get in, I'm cool with who ever. And as I said, the cavs won't beat the Celtic, magic, lakers 12 times. Seems pretty common now that the cavs are knocked out. Ha

2 way to look at it.

Lebron has had the best regular season record the last 2 seasons. Yet he has never reached the NBA Finals in those 2 seasons. Is that a choke? Just not a playoff team? excuses? "shaq is too old" no ****ing ****. I've said that since the got him. yet others look past it. And Jamison is about as cool as AIDS

now most importantly

Lakers Vs. Celtics , 2 3 2 series. Lakers with the home court.

who yall got?

My Opinion Matters
5/23/2010, 09:47 AM
Me? A Lebron jock lover? lol, hardly. I'm actually a Celtics fan, believe it or not. I think with the way the Celtics are dismantling the Magic it is becoming evident that the Celtics victory over the Cavs was more about the Celtics finally coming together as a cohesive unit than it was about Lebron choking. But I said at the end of the last round excuse time is over for Lebron, and I still stand by that, despite how well the Celtics are playing. Great players need to step up and elevate their team when it matters the most, and Lebron didn't do that. The thing with Lebron is that he is, undoubtedly, probably one of the top 5 most talented players to ever play the game. Being talented isn't enough to be great though, see Chris Webber, Tracy McGrady, Vince Carter...

Anyway, Celtics over the Lakers. I could see it going anywhere from 5-7 games, but I like the Celtics.

My Opinion Matters

Magic were never the best team in the East.

As was said yesterday at halftime, the problem the Magic have is that their roster was designed for one purpose, to beat Cleveland. This Orlando team would have gotten swept by LA in the finals if they'd been the Eastern Conference Champs.

He's the first of many that should be fired. You and I could do a better job than half those jokers. ;) :D

Problem is I don't think some of them are as bad as they seem, but once they get their marching orders from the league office they have to call the game to make those orders come true. I think it makes some of them appear to be worse officials than they truly are.

So yes, I truly do think the NBA is a crooked league, or biased if you will.

Kind of topical because it's been talked about a lot on here recently, mostly between ST and LL, but I think it has a lot to do with the officials unions. Plus the leagues protect them as well. I mean is there a more protected group of people in the world when it comes to doing their jobs than sports officials?

Collier11
5/26/2010, 10:34 PM
True, the unions have a lot to do with it. Joe West today in baseball proved part of the issues with umps these days, called multiple balks on Buerhle that were questionable at best, almost like he was hoping to call the 2nd one.

NBA refs and the league is so fraudulent..

When Danny Crawford refs Mavericks playoff games for instance

The Mavs are 2-16, 46-39 in games he doesnt officiate

Against the spread, the Mavs are 4-14 with Crawford officiating ... and 45-40 in all other playoff games.

They averaged 21.9 free throws in the Crawford games; 27.1 free throws in the non-Crawford games.

Since the Duncan incident, the Spurs are 1-4 in games officiated by Joey Crawford in the playoffs

Tim Donaghy made money by betting on NBA games using who was ref'n the game as his decision maker...

last nights game was a joke

I think that, with the pressure Kobe's building up, we could see one of those I'M-winning-us-this-one,-you-guys-get-to-watch" games from Mamba, too. And if they do that, their offensive efficiency won't be enough to overcome what the Suns do (it's so cute when they TRY) defensively.

We've had 7 teams win championships over the last 30 years. Five teams have won 28 of the last 30. Staying on top really isn't a big deal. Only four championship teams over the last 30 years have failed to win 2 in three years. Looking at that information, there is an approximately 87% that the Lakers or Celtics win the championship.

a great chance Boston can win one of the first 2 in LA.

However, I'm taking Lakers in 7

MVP: Kobe Bryant

Kobe goes to top 6 all time.

MJ
Wilt
Magic
Kareem
Russell
Kobe
Bird

i think if he wins and dominates this Finals, i put him ahead. If not he says between 7-12

I really don't like Russell in the top 5.

His offense was limited, and he was surrounded with Hall of Famers. I think 7 to be exact.
