thats quite a return they got on that top ten pick they used on him.

Still can't believe the Dolphins only gave up a 5th rounder to pick up Marshall. Getting rid of Ginn isn't really surprising though. He never lived up to his 1st Rd pick a few years ago.

God, that Ginn pick was a disaster for the Dolphins. A chilling preview of things to come under Cameron.

So in otherwords, the basically traded Ginn for Marshall. Amazing.

The Dolphins gave up 2 2nd round picks (this year's & next year's) for Marshall.

My mistake....i was thinking of Santonio Holmes who was traded for a 5th rounder.

Who?
Cam Cameron. The coach who drafted Ted Ginn. The crowd at the Dolphins draft party booed him mercilessly in the presser following the pick.
He was only there one year. They went 1-15, and really had no business winning the one game they did.

That's who I thought, but you said preview of things to come and he's long gone.

Yes. I was implying that his regime was doomed from the start because of how badly he botched his top draft pick. No one could've thought 1-15, but they had to shudder at the Ginn pick.
Cameron is in Baltimore now, right?

He's kinda giving away some chickens before they hatch. But in his case, he has a *lot* of eggs and they are all peckin' to get out :)

Most of those guys are buying million dollar homes and tricked out Escalades based on what they expect to make. I find it refreshing for someone to recognize, and help, the things that helped make them successful.
His chickens are hatched just yet though :)

Heh. He got an engineering degree? Dang. He could go undrafted and still make a pretty good chunk of salary.

depends, I know some engineers who work like dogs for crap money (but it gets better if they make it a couple years, and they get hands on, which a lot of places don't get)

Overall, Ginn has been very productive. Problem is, you dont want to spend a 1st rounder on a kick returner and #2 receiver

Agree... spending your first-round pick on a kick returner was a poor decision. Really... how much does a good kick returner really add to the game, even if your name is Devin Hester who gives you good field position if you don't have anyone who can catch a ball.
The Miami brass were publicly booed by their fans when they made that pick. It caught everyone off guard.
http://www.usatoday.com/sports/football/nfl/2010-04-15-draft-tight-ends-jermaine-gresham_N.htm
Kinda sad?
Jermaine Gresham is likely to be the first tight end selected in the NFL draft.
But the Oklahoma product won't be in New York for the NFL's April 22-24 selection meeting. And don't expect to see him via satellite from his living room during the draft telecast.
Gresham, a self-described "loner," said he'll spend draft night by himself. No friends, no family. Just him.
Why?
"If I happen to fall into the second round," Gresham said, "I don't want nobody worrying about me."

Yeah. Sounds like he's nervous and doesn't want to be a bother. After the whole VY stuff this past year I hope some of his teammates step up and make sure he knows people just want him to be happy.

Reminds me of Desmond Howard, the guy you all know and love as the fourth College Gameday guy now.
Once upon a time, he was the Green Bay Packers surprise of the year picked up in free agency for cheap. He was using our awesome special teams blockers en route to returning tons of kicks for touchdowns. He was even named the Super Bowl MVP because of his awesome kick returning ability.
And then... he went to the Raiders. I don't think I have to remind you all what happens when good players go to the Raiders for big bucks.

Word is that the Steelers are now shopping Big Ben for a top 10 pick, any chance of that STEP?

4/21/2010, 02:02 PM
ESPN just said that only the Rams and the Bills have said no thanks, that leaves 8 teams that are considering...wonder if the Steelers are just trying to make a point or if they are gonna really get rid of him
stoops the eternal pimp
4/21/2010, 02:04 PM
Rams said no, thats all I know for sure...Cleveland is a divisional team, but they have plenty of picks later to make such a move...washington is doubtful as they need LT help...These are my opinions on if they would be open
Detroit no...TB...No.....Oakland..No....Seattle..No...KC.. no..Buffalo..possible...Jacksonville..maybe
Its hard to make a move with high pick when what you get isn't gonna help you for 6 games...and especially if you don't have a good oline and your getting a qb who holds on to the ball wayy to long
edit: ESPN reporting no Buffalo
