Even though Jesus was crucified naked....

It makes clear that his crucifixion had nothing to do with religion, god, teachings or anything else we are normally taught. Obviously, he had to be put do death on the simple tenants of Bigger **** Foreign Policy, as it was labeled many years later by George Carlin.

I'll laugh if people get upset at me for showing a picture of Jesus. Really people? We don't have other problems? I can kind of see it but then I guess it's what you see when you look at it. I mean with the Pope in the news about the coverups I guess it's safe to assume Catholics always have penis on their minds.

Here (http://newsok.com/warr-acres-catholic-church-has-crucifix-some-say-shows-exposed-genitals-of-jesus/article/3453833) is the Oklahoman article with quotes from the person who is offended. Apparently her name is Molly Jenkins, she isn't Catholic, and she clearly has serious issues.

That this is even considered newsworthy is maybe the stupidest thing I've ever heard, and is further proof that journalism is dying.

BTW, I've said for the years the Clara Luper monument at 23rd at Santa Fe looks like a penis. I'm offended. Maybe the Oklahoman will do a story on that?

A few years ago we had a conservative group force a local shopping center built like an Italian palazzo with reproductions of statues to cover up the genitalia of Michelangelo's David with a...fig leaf. Never mind that the statue was at the highest point of the shopping center and you needed binoculars to see anything. The lady who headed the fig leaf drive would come in to talk with our editor and bring her 12-year-old son, who she home schooled. She'd make her son cover his ears with his hands while she and our editor conversed about the need to cover up David's d**k.

And a devious one. And the Reverend is an idiot.

When I saw the pic here in the thread, I actually thought it was photoshopped.

I don't really have a comment on religious art vs. sacrilege, but I can say I'm glad that's not hanging in my church. I mean I just don't think I could genuflect in front of it with a straight face.

Um...what was that artist thinking? That's not really anatomical in any way.

So if you look at VKs link it shows the San Damiano crucifix, which is what the artist was trying to copy. The original kinda looked like a dick; the artist of this one just did a bad job and made it really look like a dick.

Look at this one that is made in Italy and can be purchased online from a religious site, the abdomen on this one is very similar to the OKC one. You may have to enlarge it to see the detail. I MEANT ENLARGE TEH IMAGE, PERVS.

I think the word "outrage" ought to be stricken from the language until people learn what it is, and when its use is truly appropriate.
