Guess Jones got caught on video after a few too many! Bashes Tebow!

Drunk Jerry Jones (http://deadspin.com/5516297/slurring-jerry-jones-bad+mouths-bill-parcells-tim-tebow?skyline=true&s=i)

The Script might be easier to read, but the video is above!

Jerry Jones: Romo was a miracle.

Other guy: It was a miracle, wasn't it?

JJ: He almost never got in, and he almost was gone. Tebow would never…

Different other guy: What if you were the Jaguars or — would you just, just draft him and sell ****ing jerseys?

JJ: That's the only reason I brought in Bill Parcells.

[Laughter]

JJ: [Inaudible. Sounds a little like, "Sell mammoth ****in' rake," whatever that means.]

JJ: Bill's not worth a ****. I love him.

Different other guy: I know you do.

JJ: Not worth a ****, but I wanted — they were on my *** so bad. J's gotta have a yes man. So to get this ****in' stadium, I need to bring his *** in.

Different other guy: What, you, you wouldn't take Tebow in the third round?

JJ: Why? He'd never get on the field. I can't get him out there.

[Laughter]

JJ: I can't get him out there.

Well, didn't watch the video, just read the transcript... yup, sounds to me like he was drunk. Not that I disagree with his assessment of Tebow.

On SI.com right now there's a "Top 10 Quarterbacks in the NFL Draft" slideshow with Tebow at #4. According to SI his strengths are his "intangibles and winning attitude." His "shortcomings" are "his mechanics and accuracy." Don't "mechanics and accuracy" mean "ability to play football?"

BTW, I would be embarrassed if I was Jerry Jones. There are some things you don't want to admit, and telling everyone that you hired a coach to keep the fans happy is about five of them.

Tony Pike
Cincy

Pike was 27-45 for 170 yards and 3 touchdowns in the Bearcats 51-24 rout of Florida in the 2010 Sugar Bowl. He has big-time arm strength, zip on his throws, and all the physical tools to be a solid pro quarterback. But the Cincy gunslinger has to work on his field vision and accuracy.

Nice fact-checking.

No excuse for the juvenile behavior. As a business owner, when in public he needs to stay sober and keep his mouth shut.

Who wants to deal with someone that will talk like that in public?

If the economics were right I would deal with Jerry Jones. Who goes into business with someone because they think the counter-party is a neat guy?

Although, I do agree that he's a wanker.

Oh, I totally remember Cincy routing Florida. Remember seeing Tebow cry after the loss?

As you can clearly see, the scoreboard shows time running out as Cincy routs Florida 51-24.

Never question the media's accuracy ;)

I think this story is getting spun way out of control...He is obviously drunk in the video. While his comments came off as harsh because of his drunken demeanor, I don't think they are meant to be personal attacks. When asked about drafting Tebow, Jerry's point was that he has Romo and doesn't need to draft a QB. Even if you draft Tebow as a TE or H-Back, the Cowboys also have those positions covered as well. Jerry was making the point it wouldn't make sense for the Cowboys to draft him, because they don't have a need at a position that he could possibly fill. So there is no point in giving up a valuable roster spot to someone who isn't going to be on the field.

As far as the Parcells comments go, despite the way his stint ended in Dallas I think the two are still friends. Part of the reason Bill was brought here was to help raise money for the stadium. I think drunk Jerry's comments are simply nothing more than a guy taking a good humored shot at his friend is all.

My eye doc & I were discussing the upcoming draft and the QBs. The guy went to school with Bob & Mike Stoops, and he's a HUGE Gator & Tebow fan (study in contrast, I know). He said that Tebow will get snapped up by the Pats, will do well studying under Tom Brady and that Tebow will be the first QB to go. According to him, Sam's status has dropped badly - says that he's no longer near the #1 pick, and that he doesn't expect Sam to go till much later than Claussen and Tebow, probably second or even third round.

What I don't understand is, there aren't any hazardous chemicals that I know of in that office. So what would cause such horrendous hallucinations and serious lack of judgment?

Glad I only stopped in to pick up my contacts. Definitely wouldn't have been a good day for an exam...

Considering Jerry was talking about Romo before Tebow, it's quite possible he was saying Tebow wouldn't get on the field...because he has Romo.

I know that's a tremendous leap of logic and all, but...

I think Tebow will be better than Vince Young. Not don't everyone jump in and say Vince is no good. I know that, but he does start. Tebow does have a lot more sense and leadership ability than Vince. I think eventually he will throw better and I know that is not saying much.

Some eye doc, are you sure you went to the eye doctor? That guy sounds like a Proctologist! You might want to check those letters on the door next time before you start talking to him about football.

I think Tebow will be a better player than everybody is giving him a chance to be. Nobodys gonna work harder to be good and I think hes enough of a leader and winner he'll find his spot somewhere. I dont have but 1 problem with him and that is he definitely pulls the crying or crybaby stuff way to much or at least has in the past.

The thing is, tebow is like that scrappy undersized kid who we all had one of in high school. He's like a slightly more talented version of Stephen McGee from aggie a few years back. Lots of fist pumps and "hustle", but that doesn't get you into a starting gig in the league. He's sorta like that sharpshooting three-point specialist at a mid major who lights it up for two rounds in the tourney. He'll make his money selling cars or insurance (or as a motivational speaker), not as a football playa.

Its funny seeing you this opinionated about another individual. You almost always take the "who gives a care" or "why should I care it doesn't affect me" attitude. Seems to me that its his business to act the way he wants. Not like he's a public official

You misunderstand. Unlike the idol worshippers in here, I don't stay up worrying about Jerry Jones. Whether he is adversely affected by his big mouth is of no concern of mine. I just think it is funny that a man in his position would talk like that in public. Anybody that engages in a business meeting with Jerry Jones had better have him sign an NDA.

Suppose Sam Bradford takes all his money and loses it at the tracks. Wouldn't bother me one way or the other. But I would still comment on how stupid it is to gamble.
