This is an epic collapse. (http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/mood_of_america/trust_on_issues)

And then there is this...

Following the passage of the health care bill, 53% now say they trust Republicans on the issue of health care. Thirty-seven percent (37%) place their trust in Democrats. A month earlier, the two parties were essentially even on the health care issue.

These results are consistent with the finding that 54% of voters want the health care bill repealed.

Alternative thread title:

Republicans reclaim spot as lesser of two evils, two years after relinquishing title to Democrats.

Wonder how long it'll be before the Republican's have another "epic collapse", opening the door for the Democrats to have their own.

And so on, and so on, and so on.

I roll it like a more traditional chicken fry, dipping and dusting in layers. While I like a thick, crunchy batter, I take issue with whoring up a chicken fry with a batter like KFC extra crispy. I love me some Del Rancho, but that's not chicken fry as it was done by my proud Grandma. The batter fries up, but it stays light, not too eggy, and adds a dimension a wet batter just can't give.

I prefer a lighter batter. I think when you get too much batter on there, you take away the taste of the food and it's distracting. Nothing like going for a big bite, and pulling away a huge clump of fry and hardly any meat.

one of the reasons I won't have breaded chicken wings.

Kinda like the epic collapse of the Republicans from 2004-2006?

FTFY.

The 15+ years slide of the GOP from the party of conservatism to the party of a religiously tinged big government has been a sad thing to watch.

Indeed. If pups could produce a candidate that believed 25% of the Goldwater ideals, I would happily vote for said candidate.

Ya know, if Goldwater were to run in today's environment I don't think the he'd have a chance with the current GOP. He'd be treated like Ron Paul.

Well, yes, if you want to look at things realistically. But I was talking to Tuba, so I had to put it in his terms. That 14-year slide led to the 2-year "epic collapse" from 04-06.

But you're right. Like I said in another thread, recently:

I like Jim Wallis' book God's Politics: Why the Right Gets it Wrong and the Left Doesn't Get It. I don't really have a problem with a lot of the fundamental conservative ideals, but the way so many Conservatives represent/use Christianity in politics is repulsive to me. In my opinion, they get it wrong and therein encourage irresponsible or misguided Christian ethics to many Christians and create or enforce a negative stereotype of Christianity to many non-Christians. That gets under my skin like nothing else.

And that's not to say that Liberals have it figured out. Like Wallis says, they don't get it. But I'm less repulsed by that.

Glenn Beck likes to make a big spectacle of how the Democrats want to turn us into a socialist nation. But it's no more of a stretch to assume that if the Republicans had their druthers, we'd be a theocracy. Even still, I'm more upset by what the religiously-tinged big government Republicans have done to my religion than what they've done to my country.

exactly. When will traditional conservatives take notice and reclaim their party?

Well, lets look at things realistically then, the dims will have only owned Washington for two years before they complete their epic fail. A record no doubt considering they about doubled the unemployment rate and are on track to quadruple the national debt.

It took the GOP 3 times as long, on top of two wars, etc.

Do you watch iron chef? Everytime someone chooses Morimoto, the competition is done before it starts. The only thing left to decide is by just how many points Morimoto eviscerates them.

Scott D

That's because Morimoto is just a supreme badass...he is the Samurai Warlord of badass in the kitchen.

And good luck getting a seat in his restaurant...that place is hellishly booked.

Yeah...if I was ever on that show I'd have to say "Well, chairman, I want to have a snowball's chance in hell, so I'm choosing anyone but Morimoto. Let's go with Cat Cora.

Eating at his restaurant is on my wife's and my life to-do list.

I'd take Flay...because the judges can only take so much of him using spices to make his stuff spicy.

If I went on Iron Chef thinking I had a chance to win I'd definitely have to challenge Cora.

Morimoto and Batali no chance, Flay almost no chance, Symon some chance, and the new guy Garces...don't know about him yet.

...and Cat Cora is hawt!

Yeah, see, my strategy that would be that I'd watch Cat hustle her cute a$$ around the kitchen while the water on my Top Ramen boiled over. :)

Flay should be easy to beat, since he only has one strategy.

If the secret ingredient is meat, cook big chunks of it a few different ways and serve with 5 different spicy pepper sauces.

If the secret ingredient is NOT meat, cook a chunk of meat, place on top of a southwestern salsa / relish made from the secret ingredient, and serve with a spicy pepper sauce.

I don't know how anyone can trust either party till they figure out how to actually stop spending all this money which they don't have. Eventually both parties will break the bank.

see my plan against Flay would be to have a kitchen full of guys who pwned him in Throwdowns. I like the intimidation factor :)
